On The Road Again...

Today was another day, heading out very early, with Junkin Buddy to travel the country sides looking for things. We first stopped at the Canton Texas Flea Market and started on the grounds. It wasn't long before we found Donna of Curious Goods and Lilly of The Junk Palace in the Civic Center.

These legs as seen in Donna's booth is probably how my legs felt after having walked all the fields in Canton, but we had a blast.

Here was Donna's booth.

Loved these aqua chairs in Lillie's Booth. Don't forget these two girls also have shops in Malakoff Texas and after you visit Canton you can head down the road to see their shops.

After shopping several hours on the grounds our last stop of the day was with Judy Hill. Judy just has the most awesome displays, loved it all.

Next, we had set a date with Ms. Jo Harmon at the Quinlan Tx Trade Days. Jo has the most awesome things and I filled up a truck with some great finds.

Loved all her displays, she's been shopping herself. Check her out next time you head to Canton, worth the 30 minute drive from Canton.

Trisha's Giveaway

Trisha from The Red Door is having a giveaway to celebrate her 100th post, which she said she past several posts already, but she was a very busy lady doing Texas shows and all, three different ones in case you were wondering. Now talk about energy I don't know how she did it, I did good to do one show! Anyways, if you've ever had Royer's pie and have just yearned for it, then you don't want to miss leaving her a comment and posting it on your blog. Check her out for more details and don't miss it!

Please pray for Doug

Renee emailed this morning that Doug (he's pictured in the orange shirt) just found out he has cancer of the tongue. He's currently being treated in a Houston hospital. I don't have much details but if you'd like to contact Renee, I have her email, just let me know. He's always been so funny anytime I've seen him and he's just a great guy. Doug is Renee's business partner and has always been there to help her set up at Bar W. You may have seen him when at the shows. So, please keep him in your prayers.

Sweet Bella

If you've been reading my blog or Amy's for the past few days, you know by now that the fundraiser is fast approaching for our sweet Bella. I feel that she's all of ours baby and I feel this way never having met her, but I can't wait to teach her to speak Mexican (oh never mind that 's Lauri's job), but I can teach her to eat Mexican Food. I've heard the sweetest things that only a granny or Nana as she is fondly called could tell. And, to read about this miracle baby, well nobody could tell it any better than Deb. If you've ever doubted the hand of God just read Deb's blog and you'll see that she's just a miracle that no doctor could possibly take all the credit for her.

For those that may be new to reading about her, we are having a fundraiser starting May 1st. You can go to the Junk Sistas to buy a ticket. Please help us support Deb and Jenn (Bella's Mom) for this awesome cause and help them their medical expense. I know I would appreciate it and I know they definately would. Keep watching Junk Sista's blog for more info., but in the meantime head on over to Deb or Jenn's blogs and read about precious Bella. Here she is taking her beauty rest:

2 Awards and more Warrenton News

During this past antique show in Warrenton, I was so excited when I found out that I had made the Show Daily. For those that don't know what this is, it's a bi-annual antique news publication that lists all the shows and maps, and tells of various places to go when you are at the antique shows. It covers all the shows from La Bahia to Round Top, Warrenton, Fayetteville and everywhere in between. It lists adds of the different Show Promoters and Dealers that are here. It's very informative and I always recommend picking up a copy especially if you are new to the shows.

Here are the articles that featured my blog party and Sue's Book Signing that she did while here:

Also, Amie of The Junk Gypsies came over one evening and asked if I'd like to be interviewed by The Junk Mafia. Well, of course I said, who wouldn't. I had seen these guys on-line and boy was that a treat. They are so cute and funny. Loved being interviewed by them, thanks guys and Amie. Here are our pics and links:

Here's Fancy with Darren and John. Check out her blog. She even included me in a post. Thanks Fancy!

Here's Jolie being interviewed.

While I'm on the subject of news, I also wanted to thank Debi at Garden Party and Lisa of La Rustique Market for these awards. Check out their blogs, they are both very interesting.

I have to pick seven bloggers that deserve this award, but again I have to choose all on my link lists because I think this is some of the best bloggers out there.

7 quick things about me:
1. I love, obsess, and am passionate about blogging, but then you'd probably figured this one out already
2. I adore my two boys, husband, family and friends; my life is so complete and full with them in my life
3. I'm an obsessive junker, 24/7 if I could
4. I have to have coffee, flavored please, first thing in the morning; loving the Pecan Flavored from HEB right now. My tastes varies from time to time.
5. I'm constantly trying to learn something new
6. I absolutely plan and am constantly thinking about my next show
7. I find gardening so relaxing and love discovering new plants, just wish I could make them grow

Happy Junkin, T

Relaxing Spot

I think it's important for us to have down time, time to relax, refresh, and recharge ourselves. Sometimes this is really hard for me because I'm on constant auto pilot. Well, yesterday when I went to Georgetown Tx to pick up the awnings I had bought at Gatherings, I didn't have any idea what I would do with them and they are still a work in progress for my little Garden House that hopefully will come together soon. I've had this idea for wanting a "play house" Garden House, a place to go and spend time just for me and hopefully my husband will finish it soon. This morning it was cool and so breezy at my place that the more I thought about the awnings the more I thought why not put them some place for me to enjoy them now and then as my Garden House comes together they can always be moved. I'm really loving the space I created today. I'm going to go get some green tea, my new Victoria Magazine that Ms. Stephanie gave me (thanks Step) and just enjoy the day for awhile. Won't you join me...

A view of the smaller awning and this is my new relaxing spot.

Here's the larger awning I bought. I just love it.

Another view of the front smaller awning.

Check out my blog shop for items that I bought yesterday, it's all for sale.

Hope you have a great Sunday, Theresa

Saturday Road Trip

Very early this morning Junkin Buddy and I headed out to Georgetown and Austin Tx for several events we wanted to attend. We first went by Gatherings Antique Shop in Georgetown to check out their Spring Cleaning sale and to pick up the awnings I had bought. Of course we couldn't just go to the sale they had in the back of the shop without going through the store before leaving. You know how much I love their displays and the things they have and I did find a few more treasures. Here are pics of their shop:

We were on the road within the hour to have lunch with my son and his girlfriend at Guero's in downtown Austin. We did have time to shop at Uncommon Objects before having lunch. OMG, we saw to so many cool things and managed to fill up a bag full of things we just couldn't live without. From there on to Guerro's for a great lunch. This drink's for you Lulu (courtesy of Guero's):

Here's only a small portion of what you will see at Uncommon Objects. Their things and displays change almost daily if not weekly:

Our final stop in Austin was at the Austin City Wide sale. We always enjoy visiting with Linda Parker. She has such a great eye for the unusual. She said she's here every month or you can always find her at Uncommon Objects:

(Dealers at White Elephant)

We found a new dealer at city wide, but by the time we got to their booth, they were pretty wiped out. Seems they had a good show. Sorry I can not remember their names, but they said they live in Austin but they are in the shop, White Elephant in Dallas. Will have to make a road trip soon to check them out. I found the coolest things with them, very odd and unusual.

What a long day, but we had a blast. Tomorrow I'll post pics of what I bought.

So Much More To Share With You

I feel that sometimes I have so much to share with you and so little time to do this. Maybe I should hire an assistant. A friend of mine kiddingly once said she was going to get a wife to do everything that needed to be done. Maybe I should just try and clone myself. Anyways, I still have several show posts to do, but before that I wanted to show you where Mindy, her sweet sister and mom and I went for lunch on Tuesday. We met at The Farmhouse Restaurant, one of my fav places to eat. I really like the way the owners have decorated this place even though when it first opened it was so much more decorated (Yes, Ms. Judy Hill initially helped with the decorating), but since they opened they've had to remove some their great decorating items to make room for more tables, which is a good thing. They've also opened a new restaurant downtown Huntsville. So if you are in our neighborhood, stop by and check out either place.

Here's Mindy and crew:

Thanks ladies for a great time on Tuesday.

Love the huge columns and plates:

Of course I'm still a fan of awnings, wait until you see the one's I bought today.

Junkin buddy and I are headed out very early tomorrow morning on a field trip and to pick up my awnings, so stay tuned to see where the road will lead us.

Donna's Giveaway

Just a reminder that Donna is having a giveaway of some really cool things, but it ends tonight at 8:00. You are going to have to work for this one, but that's okay because you could win a beautiful painting of a horse or two beautiful necklaces. I'm with Deb on the one she hopes to win, which I too would love to win that one as well. So, don't forget to go over and visit Donna and play along in her giveaway. If you don't play you can't win, then you'll be crying when you didn't win the price!! See ya there.

Junk Sistas Unite for a great Cause

If you have seen the Junk Sistas button on my side bar and maybe you've been wondering what exactly does this means, well let me explain. First let me just say, this awesome idea was created by Amy at Trailer Trash. As many of you know, our sweetie pie's Cat Daddy and Deb's daughter Jenn had precious Bella premature on March 12. You can read more about her debut here. I won't ever forget this date because it's my son's birthday as well. As I said she was born premature and as Deb says she has a while to continue baking in her glass castle. You know if you've ever had any medical expenses for any short time they can be overwhelming. We want to help them out and are asking for your help. Amy's idea is to have a fundraiser, a good 'ol fashion raffle ticket fundraiser. She is asking for donations of items to be raffled off and all proceeds will go to them.

Here's the plan:

1. Please leave me or her a comment or e-mail if you are interested in participating by April 26.

2. Write a brief description of the item or items that you wish to donate on April 29, 2009 and if possible include a picture. Send Amy the link so that she can have the post ready to run on May 1.

3. Willing participants will need to contact Trailer Trash blog to buy raffle tickets.

4. On June 1, 2009 Amy will use Random Org. to randomly draw names.

5. Once names are drawn, you will be given the name and contact information of the winner or winners to ship the items to them. PLEASE be aware that you are taking responsibility for shipping cost of the items.

6. On June 2, the total amount will be announced and given to the family.

If you have ANY QUESTIONS, please e-mail Amy at
ms.gypsyrose@att.net or myself at garden_antqs@yahoo.com

I can't thank you in advance enough from the bottom of my heart for helping us out with this great cause. There are many of you that have already signed up. Deb also thanks you from the bottom of her heart and for once she's speechless!! Just kidding Deb, you know we love you and would do anything for ya! Let me just add a note, if you don't have anything you really would like to donate, but still would like to help them out, any amount of donations would really be appreciated. Just email me and I'll be glad to provide you Deb's address to send to them directly. I know our blog friends are just the best and there's not a better group of people out there that always come to the need when called upon. Thank you so very much!!

Cottage Gatherings & Urban Nest

I still have several more posts of the show to go, that's what I get for taking over 300 pics and filling up 2 memory cards, but before I continue the posts I wanted to feature a shop we saw today. We had to go to La Grange Texas for business and stopped by Haley's shop, Cottage Gatherings. , is located at 201 W Travis St. La Grange, 979-966-0555. You probably have seen her shop at the Campbell Building in Warrenton Texas during Antiques Week and if you have adventured any to La Grange you may have see this shop. Yes, Deb this is the place to get Yellow Box shoes, but you already knew that, there were tons of them on the sidewalk (no not free, darn it, on sale I think). Anyways, I just loved the display area outside her shop. Here's what it looked like:

Cool bike!

Loved the pedestals that were outside, especially the one below with the chippy white and pink paint.

This was a cool idea to cover bookshelves with old book pages or sheet music.

Then, as we left her store I saw a sign that caught my eye and what a nice surprise to discover she has another shop just around the corner, Urban Nest, located at 136 W Colorado St. Here's the inside of this beautiful shop:

I absolutely love awnings and this was really cool one.

I immediately recognized this sign. I've seen it many times at my friend's house and now it has a new home.

Another cool bike.

On our way home we stopped at another place. I just loved the way all the suitcases were stacked up.

Tomorrow I have a special post to reveal what the Junk Sistas Unite button on my side bar means. If you can't wait, check out Amy's post.

Thank you so much for following:
