We attended the Leftover's Antique Shop party last Saturday and it was a lot of fun. I always really enjoy seeing how they've redone the store and what new things they've brought in from their travels. If you've never been to this shop, mark this place down on your list of places you have to visit. Their displays are always so creative and the unique things they have will just blow you away. Here's what we saw:

What An Honor
Keri of Antique Therapy was asked by Blog.com to pick 10 of her favorite blogs about antiques and I was one of them. How exciting to be named amongst such a great group of bloggers. Thank you so much Keri for this honor, I am truly touched:
Also, Cathi of Calsidyrose gave me the Premio Meme Award this past Friday. How exciting that she too included me. Thanks Cathi for this award! I now have to tell you seven things about myself, but I feel that I've shared it all with you. You can read more about me here.

Awesome Dealers but Aweful Heat
This past weekend was the Red Barn Show and while there were some awesome dealers here we all had to deal with the aweful heat. On Friday the truck registered 111 degrees (yes I kid you not) and then on Sunday it was a bit cooler at 106! We all kiddingly said we should have had our heads examined to unload and then load it all back up in this heat, but at least the inside was air conditioned. Let's all pray the Fall shows are not this hot.
Here's such talented friends that showed up and created really great displays despite it all:

She fought Until The End

This is probably how I remember her most, her big smile and blonde hair, but unfortunately she died today. Farrah Fawcett fought until the end, but the cancer ultimately won. I became so facinated with her in the 70's during Charlies Angels, as I'm sure many did, and we all wanted to have her hair style. She was a Texas girl and I was always glued to the television to watch Charlie's Angels. I watched her recently during her television special on this disease and she was so courageous to share her ordeal. She still was a beautiful woman even until the end. You can read more about her here.
The Red Barn Show
The Red Barn Antique Show is this weekend, Saturday from 10:00-5:00 and Sunday from 10:00-4:00 in beautiful Round Top Texas. Not even the heat will keep us away and I so hope it will not keep the customers from coming out. The building is air conditioned and you can shop in comfort. Here's a preview from the last show in January:

Check These Out
I wanted to introduce two new blogs to you and a new website. For those of you that shop with Jill in Warrenton Tx during Antiques Week at The Little House on the Hill field, she now has a new website that you can order from and you don't have to wait for the shows. She sells the most awesome smelling candles among other great vintage things in Warrenton. I know I usually run out of candles and have to wait until the next Fall or Spring show to stock up on them, but now you can order them online. Check out her site here. This is a small portion of what her booth looks like in Warrenton during Antiques Week, it's also normally filled with ladies shopping that you are bumping elbows:

Next on the list of ladies to check out is Kelly. She owns a shop in Boerne Tx and has new blog, Vintage Bliss & Co. Go over and welcome her to this wonderful Blogland:

And, last but not least on the list is Debra with her new blog Common Ground.
I can already tell Debra and I like similar things.
Please welcome all these ladies and stop over and visit them when you get a chance.

Whats Happening At Winnie & Tulula
There's a lot of shaking and moving going on at Winnie and Tulula's. Things are being sold, new merchandise is coming in, dealers are moving things around and new dealers are moving in. We were there today moving things to a new corner booth. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I love my new location. Check out the finished product:
Here's Gloria space. Love all her displays and linens"
There's CD, resting after bringing in a new load. Can you see him smiling:

Where Did The Road Lead Us?
Pour yourself a cold drink, this is a long post and you won't want to rush through it. Besides there are many slide shows and I know you'll want to see them all. It's taken me over a week to get this post done. With trying to get my things together for the Red Barn Antique Show at the end of the month and working and battling the heat was almost unbearable. To finish TOT's and I whirlwind Texas trip, after attending Ms. Judy (see previous post) home show, we continued on down the road. After we left Kilgore, we headed to Tyler and stopped at one of my favorite places. From there we headed to Dallas to check out Gina and Portia's Garden Sale. Here is a pic of their fun sale:
Click on the above picture to see the slide show of their sale.
Last Friday, we first made a pit stop at Jo Harman's in Quinlan. What a great time we had with Jo. She is the best and finds the coolest stuff. Here's a preview of what she had:
Click on the above picture to see the slide show of Jo's place.
From Jo's, we made a quick detour to J'Rne in Terrell. Here's what we saw here:
Click on the above picture to see more of J'rNe's.
From there we headed down the road to Lonestar Antique's in North Richland Hills to meet Ms. Tiina and daughter and we were in search of more things.
Want to see what caught our eye at Lonestar's, click on the above picture.
We also made a quick stop at Golightly's:
This is Lynn's space at Golightly's. Again click on this picture to see more of Golightly's. There was plenty to be found in both shops. Don't you wish you could have tagged along.
Finally, our last day on Saturday we were at the opening of Winnie and Tulula. What a celebration we had with the opening of this great shop. Please stop by when you get a chance and check out these vendors. Click on the picture of Lillie and Deb and you'll see more great shots of things you'll see at Winnie and Tulula's. I know you will want to make a quick trip there after seeing these pics:
Click on the above picture to see more of Winnie and Tulula.
Our final stop of our whirlwind trip was in Malakoff to visit Curious Goods and The Junk Palace. There are so many new shops that have opened in this small town and unfortunatley we did not get a chance to check them all out. If you make a road trip this way let me know what you found and what you think. Click on the below picture to see the slide show.

Curious Goods, Malakoff Tx.
We were both pretty tired from our trip, but we had the best time! Next time though, I think we'll hire a designated driver and we'll just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Industrial meets Cottage
TOT and I headed out for some serious shopping and hit the roads full blast for a Texas whirlwind road trip. We had a great time and only got lost a few times (well okay more than a few times), but we laughed and found some really great things. Her box truck was full of Texas treasures.
Our first stop of the day on Thursday morning was at Judy Hill's Open House. I know that words just can't explain how awesome her displays were, nor can pictures show her creativity, this is one show you would have to have seen it literally in person. Check it out:
This was on her back porch. Cool industrial pieces filled with great food.
Check out this industrial table with swivel stools. This would look great in any home. Look closely, the chargers were metal dust pans. Only Judy can come up with this idea!
The wicker table display was off from her kitchen.
Not only did the table look great, but the twig chandelier with birds was so cleaver and pretty.
I always love what she does with birdcages and this one was just as awesome as any I've seen.
More great ideas as you go through her home. So much to take in. No wonder it takes many trips through to see it all.
