Run, Don't Walk

To Canton, get there as fast as you can so that you can check out the vendors that are there. It was a great Day in Canton, found some cool finds. Of course after leaving there and heading to Dallas, it was a busy day. I'll post pics of my finds when it quits raining.

In the meantime, I wanted to show you just a few vendors that you can find at The Canton Texas Flea Market this month.

The girls that own The Rose, located in Arbor III, always have the cutiest linen tops, pants, dresses and accessories and this month only you get their fabulous things at over 50% discount. I found some really great things with them:

Next on your tour of Canton was stopping at The Veranda. Shiloh is now located here with Maggie. Look at her cute space. She had some awesome brown transferware too. She says you can also find her at The La Bahia Antique Show in the Fall:

This is Maggie's space. Love the fabric headers. Be sure and look for Maggie at The Rose of Texas Show in the Fall and there's the chance she might be featured in the next Romantic Country magazine, so be watching for this. Of course, you can always find her at Winnie and Tulula's in Athens.

Here's Carolyn Westbrook's gorgeous booth. I always love her displays and the way everything looks picture perfect:

Last, but certainly not least, is Donna of Curious Goods. Donna is in the Blue Building or the Civic Center as it's called. She too can always be found at Winnie and Tulula's or her shop in Malakoff. Donna's got some great news for the Fall show, she's going to be at The Marburger Antique Show as well:

Now, look at this girl, trying to make the moves on my husband. As a matter of fact the vendor told me she was so wild last night, he had to tie her up to the pole to make her behave. Well, that wild thang hopped in the back of my truck and she's now being sent to a girl's school to teach her some manners.

We had fun. We saw Marcie and Mayron of Unique Unique Design. And, a little birdie called and told me there are two Uncommon Object dealers shopping there tomorrow looking for great treasures. If you go let me know what you find.

A reminder Winnie and Tulula's is having a great sale in the back of the store. I'm sure there will be great treasures to be found here. So once you go to Canton head down the road to Athens and check out the sale.

What's Happening Today?

You know what today is right? No, you don't. Are you sure? Well it's time for the Canton Texas Flea Market~~Junker's Paradise, it just doesn't get any better. I don't care if it's hot, raining, cold (yea right, we haven't seen cold in a while) or windy, it doesn't matter rain or shine we will be in Canton.

(source)

We are shopping shopping shopping to find YOU great things for Winnie and Tulula's and one of a kind things for Zapp Hall. The show count down has begun. Read about it here.

If you are in Canton, maybe I'll run into you or you'll run into me. I'll probably be in my own world and if I don't speak don't take it personal, I'm usually in a junker's zone, if you know what I mean. If you've never been, you have been missing out. You have 3 more days to check it out.

We are going to pick up some things already bought and I can't wait to show you what we found and maybe even who we saw!!

White Wednesday & Christmas in July

It's time for another post of Kathleen's White Wednesday and with the somewhat cooler weather we've had in Texas these past few days, of course how much cooler does it have to be from 100 degrees, I guess I've got Christmas on my mind. Probably just wishing and praying that cooler weather would hit Texas. It's cooler in Washington where my sister lives and cooler in Michigan where my Mother's family lives, but the weather is always hot hot hot in Texas.

Actually, I was going through some of my magazines and came across an article by Matthew Mead and with his and Ki's new magazine deputing in the Spring 2010, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get you excited to see what great things they will publish with each issue.

For me, white at Christmas is the ultimate color of celebration. I love the different tones you can use and this picture shows just how beautiful it can be, almost like a winter wonderland inside your home. Even if it doesn't snow in your area, you still get the wonderland feeling.

Look at how pretty you can use nature (twigs) to brighten any space. White is so soothing and relaxing.

Now, white can be used even in your cooking. Love the look of the white icing dripping on the side of the cake, reminds me of the cakes my aunt used to make with a 7 minute icing. And the vanilla cake, well it was just awesome. Please add a dip of blue bell ice cream and we were all happy.

White cupcakes, white cheese cake and of course the ultimate white dessert, pound cake. The Pound Cake recipe my aunt used called for 12 eggs, don't you know how rich it was and oh so good. Hope you enjoyed seeing how white can be used in everyday ways, and even with food. Make a cake for your family today, I'm sure they'll be happy you did.

It's Bella Time

Today is the pink shower for Ms. Bella. If you aren't familiar with her, of course I'm not sure how this could be, but maybe you are new to my blog so let me explain. Ms. Bella made her debut into this world on March 12, 2009 (this happens to be my son's birthday too, so how could I forget) weighing barely ONE POUND, yes sir you read right, ONE POUND. But as her proud Momma put it, "She has much attitude and hates to have her stats done. Loves to hold on to all the things attached to her and never stops moving her little toes.. I can't imagine who she gets her attitude from..." I bet I could guess, let's see there's her Nana and then there's Momma and that's just one side of the family.

But you know what it's this attitude that has brought her this far. That and thanks to many prayer warriors. So today we celebrate Ms. Bella. So go on over to her Nana's blog and have yourself some dessert and Bellini's, but not until at least 9ish...

Here she is all pretty in pink:

Hopefully, she'll be home soon. Can't wait to hear this news.

And, speaking of babies, I thought I'd show you my little babies, well they aren't little anymore, but I guess they will always be my babies:

Our oldest son Brandon was born on March 12, 1982.

Mark, our youngest son, was born on August 20, 1987.

Here they both are with their dad and nephew, I think Mr. C is either shrinking or they've continued to get taller. Oh my how time flies.

See ya at the party...

60 Days and Counting

I usually don't start counting down for the Round Top/Warrenton Antique Shows until about a month out, but I just couldn't resist starting early. Besides, I have to keep ya'll guessing what I will do next, can't become too predictable, right. Anyways, I want to give you a teaser and an antique fix until the next Fall Show, which is only 60 days away-September 25, 2009! I hope you have your calendar's marked, your shopping carts are cleaned and ready and you've started looking for your next prom attire.

So, will you be there?

Austin Shopping

For the last post of our Anniversary trip, I wanted to share with you one of our favorite shops in Austin Tx, Uncommon Objects Antique Shop, located on S. Congress. This place is just awesome. I can't put into words just how much I love to come shopping here. When you walk in, you can either turn to the left or the right side. It doesn't matter which side you start on because you'll have to go back several times just see it all. Be sure and look up because the dealers here will hang things from the ceiling and you don't want to miss any of it. Every time we've been here, there always a crowd, but don't let that stop you from going. Even on Sunday morning when we stopped, we were there as soon as they were opening and there was still a crowd. It's almost like this is the place to hang out, rather than going to Starbucks, just go here.

The pictures all above were of Jeanette's booth. It's always so interesting.

This is Micki and Brandi's booth. They just moved to a bigger spot and Micki says they have much more to bring in. I loved all the round mirrors they had. They too always have a good eye for finding the most interesting things. Occasionally, they set up at the City Wide Garage Sale, so look for the mother/daughter team when you go.

The two booths above were of Linda Parker's booth. I love her style. You may remember her from the Marburger Show, but now she just sells here or you can find her too at City Wide.

You also never know who you will meet here. We met a very interesting lady that my husband just loved the way she was dressed. I think it was the Mexican Dress that caught his eye. When we started talking to her she told us of her travels into Mexico, the fiesta's she attended, and what all to see and where to go there. Well, since my husband is from Mexico she really caught his attention. The part of Mexico she mentioned we had never been to, but it was interesting listening to her adventures. Sorry I can't remember what her name was, it was just a great conversation.

I understand that celebrities have frequented here and movie set designers will occassionally stop by looking for their next cool item to buy to possibly use in a movie. Now, wouldn't that be too cool to see something you found and sold and it being used in a movie.

One of the other places we visited while in Austin was the City Wide Garage Sale. If you are wondering if this is a garage sale, it's an indoor place (yes air-conditioned) where vendors set up with all kinds of merchandise, from retro, to primitive, country, cottage, linens, silver, jewelry, a mix of it all. Here are some of the things that caught my eye:

I hope you've enjoyed seeing where all we went and will try and stop by one of these places the next time you are near them.

White Wednesday @ Beverly's

Today is time for another one of Kathleen's White Wednesday posts and I wanted to feature a shop we found during our trip this past weekend. It's one of those shops that's off the beaten path and worth the drive. Beverly's Shop is located in a small house with only 4 rooms, but it's packed to the max. There was already a small crowd there when we arrived and by the time we left, there were ladies carrying things in and out. She said she was really low on merchandise, but I still managed to find a lot. Beverly, really knows how to find great things. Take a peek and tell me what you think:

From there we headed on to San Antonio. We found a new shop per Kristi's suggestion, sorry I didn't take any pictures of Vina's place, but she's located at 1722 Blanco Road (I'm guessing on the address since I wasn't sure of the exact address) and she presently doesn't have a sign up. She's calling her place Junker's Paradise. And even though I had to wait on her 2 hours, I can tell she is on the hunt probably daily for new things. She doesn't open until late, I think around 1:00 pm unless she's on the hunt and then it's more like 4:00 pm but she does stay open late until around 8:00.

From there we headed to Ironside Market. This appears to be an antique shop from the outside, but once you go inside it's set up different more like a Flea Market. There are individual booths in the building and each owner of the booth sells things and you pay them directly rather than having one central location to pay for things. It was interesting to visit, but didn't find anything that caught my eye.

Tomorrow we'll head to one of my favorite shops in Austin.

Carolyn's Summer Market

I hope you were able to make it out this past Saturday to Carolyn Westbrook's Summer Market, but if you didn't, all I can say is you missed it!! Deb, Linda, Carolyn, and her friend Rebecca turned the tent and log cabin into a magical place. Here's pictures of their spaces:

Rebecca's beautiful creations-Heaven To Earth is the name of her business and her dry botanical floral creations are just so beautiful.

Deb and Dan's space. Loved the chairs and Industrial table.

What a dreamy bed.

Linda and Ludmil's creative touches can be seen in their things.

Here's one of the cottage's that Carolyn and her family have been working on. Isn't it just beautiful:

I got to actually tour some of Carolyn's home and it was so much prettier than the book could have shown you. This was what you saw in her entry way:

I want you to see more of her gorgeous place, so click here to continue.

It's a good think Carolyn had security, I'm sure they could have protected everyone if needed! They were just too cute.

What a beautiful place and a great way to end the day on a swing filled with beautiful linens. That's Carolyn mom in the background. Sorry I didn't remember the other ladies name.

Tomorrow we'll head to Geronimo's.

Dallas Design District

On our trip into Dallas, the first place we stopped was Boulevard Emporium located at 1010 N. Industrial Blvd in Dallas. I had no idea this shop is going out of business until I got there and discovered many many things discounted at 75% off! That was the first of the truck load of things I found. So glad we stopped here first.

They sell vintage clothes, shoes, fabrics, curtains, furniture, a mix of it all. I found a lot of millinery flowers I had been searching forever for, a swimsuit that was just too cute, and red transferware dishes. Stay tuned it'll all be for sale on my blog shop.

The next place we went to was The White Elephant. This place is a feast for the eyes. So many cool displays were everywhere. I love Luann and Kaci's of Patina Green's displays, they always have the best ideas and things. Here's a peak into their booth:

Next, was a girl in the very back of the shop that had some really cool garden white pieces. Here was her booth:

Loved the tall piece that I guess went on top of a building and the rusty garden arbor.

Here's another booth that caught my eye:

I took so many pictures of this shop. To continue the tour of White Elephant, click here. They are located at 1026 N. Industrial Blvd.

Next, we stopped at Lost and Found. These are two shops located right down the block from each other also on N. Industrial Blvd. Lots to see there, just not much to buy. I did however, see my chairs that were sold to one of the owners. They've found a new home and greeted me as I walked in the door:

We then headed towards Gina's shop. It's such a beautiful place and so much inspiration could be seen in every corner. I'm sure you've seen her things if you've ever shopped at Zapp Hall. Her tent is the big one that backs up to Carolyn Westbrook's cottage. Love her style:

Check out Gina's blog to see more of her shop and her weekly sales. To see more of Gina's shop, click here.

After we left Industrial Blvd., we headed out to find Dolly Python and Curiosities. I had heard of these two shops, but Gina reminded me about Dolly Python. Now, this shop sells a lot of vintage clothes with a mix of oddities thrown in. One of the vendors here also sets up at Uncommon Objects and I immediately recognized his things. They are just off the wall cool and different:

Dolly Python
is located at 1916 N Haskell Ave.

The last place we went was Curiosities. I have never seen another shop before this one that reminded me so much of Uncommon Objects. They had vignette after vignette filled to the brim with cool things. I could have spent a lot more time here, but we were pretty much shopped out by the time we made it to this place. Next time we're in Dallas, I'll stop here first to take more time looking. Curiosities is located at 2025 Abrams.

Now I took so many pictures of each of these places, that I had to create a slide show. You don't want to miss any of the pictures, so click here to continue the tour. We also stopped at City View and you can see some of their booths in the slide show.

Tomorrow, I'll be featuring Carolyn's Summer Market. She invited several of my friends and their spaces were over the top. I also got a mini tour of her home, which was just beautiful. They've redone one of the cottages on their property, so check back for another inspiring place.

Thank you so much for following:
