I wanted to go ahead and give you a teaser post to show you just a bit of what could be seen at the JHill Designs "Late Show". Judy's place looked fabulous as always:
I loved these huge white columns in her living room.

Reminder about "The Late Show"
Just a reminder that we will be joining JHill Designs & Co. this Saturday, August 28, at 9:30 am-Late.
Here's the show info:

Kilgore, Tx

Judy will have her home open as well and you know her displays are going to be over the top, they always are. Don't forget she has a new blog address, so please go over and visit her. As a teaser and especially if you are deciding which place to go to in Texas this week, here are past photo's of Judy's place:
This should make up your mind, don't you think. She's just good and when you're good well you go where the inspiration is, right! Of course, there are so many talented girls this week having sales and I know this is going to be a tough one. If you wind up going to another sale, please let us all know so that we can check out what we missed.
We also recently went on a shopping trip and are so excited with what we've found on the junkin' road. We will have great industrial things and french & garden items all for your home, office or shop. My header gives you a small hint of what I'm bringing.
There will also be other great vendors joining Judy along with antiques, barn items, & a food vendor. It'll be a great time to shop for one-of-a-kind vintage finds. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Texas Events on a White Wednesday
This is going to be a busy week in Texas and this is even before the big shows start! And since it's also another one of Kathleen's White Wednesday why not combine the two. There are so many events going on this last week of August, that you'll want to make it to at least one or all of them if you can. Laurie of LaurieAnna's Vintage Home is having her Fall Preview Party this Saturday, Aug 28 at 9:00 am at her new location:
Take a look at her space at the Arbors and her shop this past month during Canton Flea Market:

(click on any of the pictures above to see more)
Now, it looks pretty fabulous, don't you think, but just wait until you see her new shop. I can't even imagine how awesome it's going to look at her new place with over 6,000 square feet. I so wish I were going but we will be at JHill Designs "Late Show" on the same day. If you are in the Canton Texas/Kilgore area you can make it to both events. They are just down the highway and not too far from each other. I'll post more about the "Late Show" tomorrow.
****************************************************
Our next Event takes us to Grapevine Texas for The Red Shed Antiques Dog Days of Summer Sale. It's also on Saturday, Aug. 28th, starting 8AM! You could hit their sale first, then head on down the junkin highway and find LaurieAnna's in Canton and Judy's in Kilgore. What a great time to be in Texas, don't you think. Click here for more info. on their sale.
****************************************************
The Next Event is in Georgetown Texas at the Gatherings Antique Shop. They are having a huge sale, which starts on Thursday, Aug. 26. I haven't been there to see them in a while but I know each time I have been, it's always such an awesome place to shop. I've been to their other sale events and always walk away with a load of things. Also, effective 9-1-10 their store hours will change to be open Sunday (noon until 4) and CLOSED MONDAY, Tues thru Sat. (10:30 until 5:30).
****************************************************
The last event will be in College Station Texas at the Junk Gypsy Warehouse Sale. Now, these girls know how to have a sale and make it fun at the same time. Go see them if you're in this area, you'll find some great bargains, have a blast with them, and be sure and tell them I sent you.
It won't be long before the Round Top / Warrenton Texas Antique Show starts and I'll have several upcoming posts that involve not only the Junk Gypsies but several others, so stay tuned.
Make it a long road trip and go to all these events. You may be tired, but you'll have a blast. Maybe I'll see ya down the next junkin highway. Also, be sure and visit Kathleen's blog for her White Wednesday participants.

30 Days Until The Shows Start
Can you believe it! That we are 30 days from being at one of the WORLD'S BEST PLACES TO SHOP, the Zapp Hall Antique Show opening day that is. I can't believe time has flown by so fast from the last show. Of course you know not all the shows start on the same day and some of the shows open even earlier, so for some of you it's less than 30 days. And some of the shows open later, like the Marburger Farms Antique Show (more on that in a bit).
There is always an excitement in the air, for me at least, as we near the shows. I'm always glad as we near the end of September each year (or March in the Spring) because I'll get to see and visit with friends that I only get to see twice a year. There's also field after field of the coolest stuff this side of Texas, so shopping is another great benefit as well. That's why I like setting up at Zapp Hall because I am literally in the middle of shopping the fields.
(my booth at Zapp Hall)
Then, there's the parties that you can go to like the Clutter Opening Day Party (Friday, Sept. 24) and the Leftover's Antique Shop Opening Party (Saturday, Sept. 25) and of course My Blog Party (Sunday, Sept. 26)-I so hope to see your smiling faces there. Please RSVP here.
If this is your first time to the shows, you have to check out this website to get an idea just how many towns and shows and miles of shopping there is for you. If you've never been, you're in for such a great surprise. There are no many places to go to which covers many towns and if you didn't realize how many shows there are, you should check them all out here.
Now speaking of other shows. This is one place that I never miss going to and it's the Marburger Farm Antique Show. Just take a look at all these fabulous booths, you will definately want to make plans to attend:
And, here's one more treat for you. If you will blog about your upcoming plans to attend the Marburger Farm Antique Show and let Fancy of Cactus Creek know about it, they will comp your admission to this show (which by the way is $25 a pop AND... yes there's more, you'll get another surprise gift) just for blogging about it. Now hurry on over and sign up, tickets are limited!
In the next few weeks, until the shows start, I hope to highlight shows, vendors, and places for you to see while you are in Round Top/Warrenton Texas area. You'll need at least two weeks to see it all. Make sure you bring your cowboy boots and prom dress (these are two items you don't want to leave home without them~you'll understand why later if you don't now)! See you all in a few weeks, if not before.

Happy 23rd Birthday!!
Have you ever seen someone so in love with a baby or maybe that person was you, that you thought your love would just explode. That's the emotion I've felt with the birth of both of my sons. So today my baby turns 23 and we celebrate him! I can't believe how fast time has flown from that glorious August 20, 1987 birth date.
He has grown into a great man that we are so proud of. While, I've always considered him my strong willed child, this is defniately not a flaw, but a blessing. This took me so many years to realize. He speaks his mind and will always give you an honest answer, even if it's not always what you really want to hear. While he's taller and bigger than his dad and brother, he's still my baby. He has a quietness about him, strong, yet thoughtful and carefully thinks things through. He always seems surrounded by his friends and cousins, he can be such a jokester, he makes us laugh so much. I can't say enough about him, he's just my favorite youngest son!
Here he is with his good friend. We'll be celebrating his birthday today and this weekend because after all you can't just celebrate just one day, right?
Happy Birthday son, we love you so much!!

Judy Hill Has A New Blog Address
Just wanted to get the word out that if you've been following Judy Hill for any time, you know about her website, her fabulous home shows and her blog from her website. Well, she's been working hard to revamp her blog and now she's got a new address to go with it. Check it out here. You'll have to go in and add the new address on your blog.
Also, don't forgort about the "Late Show" coming up at her place. See you there.
White Wednesday "En Provence"
Today's White Wednesday's post takes us to a different part of the world, to France. I first discovered this blog a while back and while she does have very pretty things and ideas, I was mostly drawn to all the beautiful clothes that she shows. Take a look for yourself:
There is something so romantic about these clothes. I love the fabric choices and the curves and lines of each. Even the pretty plum colors would really look great in the Fall.

Here's another view of the top:

She captured such a pretty image:

There's something about these clothes that seems magical and reminds me of Magnolia Pearl or even Anthropologie.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday and don't forget to check out Kathleen's other White Wednesday participants.

Are You Ready For Fall
This weekend as I was outside working in the heat and getting my things ready for Judy's Show on August 28, I was wishing for cooler weather. I am so ready for Fall time. So, in between being outside and coming inside to cool off, I came across the show The Fabulous Beekman Boys. They were planning a Fall Harvest event and showed The American Hotel. It looked so pretty decked out for the Fall that I just had to share it with you. I also looked it up and what a great place to visit, so quaint.
While we are a few weeks from the first day of Fall, maybe if we wish hard enough it'll turn cooler before then. So tell me, are you ready for Fall.

45 Days & Counting
There is a lot going on today for me to do several posts in one day, but I just wanted to remind y'all (not that you really need one) that we are 45 DAYS away from my Blog Party. We are actually a lot closer than that to being at the WORLD's best and bigest Antique Shows around or at least in Texas. So, please mark your calendars for Sunday, September 26 at 6:00 pm, my booth at Zapp Hall in downtown Warrenton Texas.
I know you want to know who all will be there. I'm so excited that Carolyn Westbrook will be there signing her new book ~ And I can tell you from the preview it's one awesome book:
Carolyn will also be at The Marburger Farms show signing books. You don't want to miss this opporutunity to own another one of her great books, they've all been wonderful and one that you'll refer to over and over for inspiration. I know that I have at least with all her other books that I own.
Secondly, I've invited Jill from Gypsy Brocante to come and sell some of her newest items. I think she's going to surprise us with what she's bringing, it could be her altered art necklaces or rosette's but it really doesn't matter because all she does is great. She's only going to the at the shows selling her things for THIS ONE DAY at my booth so you don't want to miss out (of course the rest of the time she'll be shopping). And, if you were in attendance at last Spring's blog party, there's the chance you may have received one of her rosette's in your goody bag that Polly of Counting Your Blessings sent us. Jill had created a special rosette for me for the party and I just loved it.
Now, speaking of Polly, she's going to be at the Blog Party too!! Yes she is. She's bringing these awesome goody bags and will be handing them out in person. I'm so excited that all these great girls are coming out.

Now, what's missing? Well, YOU of course.
During the last blog party, we had a contest to see who could make the cutest name badge and after everyone voted TOT won that giveaway. So, I thought I would make another fun challange for this party and took my idea from Deb's suggestion that Amy of Whisperwood Cottage does at her blog parties.
I'm asking that if you are planning on coming to the blog party to please bring a some type of finger food. It can be sandwiches or dip or chips or a desert and your challange is to bring it in the most unual dish you can find or put together. Like this one:
Now, if you still want more ideas, check out Amy's post here. The one that brings their food in the most unique dish wins the prize. You all will be the judges. Thanks Deb for the suggestion.

White Wednesday at Smitten
Since today is another one of Kathleen's White Wednesday's, I wanted to feature a shop in McKinney that I've featured before. You can always find white things at Smitten. As you walk up to Smitten, one of the first things that catches your eye are their huge display windows. I always think it's so great when a shop has display windows that are a good size, but the best thing is when their displays are just so appealing. There are many shops I've seen that don't use the display windows to their full advantage. They don't try to decorate them to draw customers in, they just stuff them full of stuff, that's never appealing. If displays windows are appealing, to me as a customer, I'll be more inclined to visit a shop. Then, there are the shops that are just your kind of place that you want to spend time at just going over every detail so as not to miss anything, well that's how Smitten is.
I'll show their windows in just a bit, but first I wanted to show you the display that caught my eye enough to put it as my header photo:
This booth belongs to Elizabeth Duval of Studio Number 35. What I didn't realize is that she is also a published author and super talented too. You can check out her website here.
I think we like the same things:

Just look at all these things that some how make such an interesting display.

This is the front part of her booth:

More great things:

Let's move on to Angie's booth. Some of you may have remembered seeing her house featured on Patina Green's blog and just how beautiful it was. If you didn't get the chance to see, you have to go here to check out the post. Here was her beautiful booth:

This garden statue had just the right patina:

Here was another great one:

And I just adored this vintage men's suit advertisement:

It was really large and could have considered a great piece of art and history.
This front booth was so beautiful:

Of course as I said, their windows were just so appealing:

Sorry about the glare.
You can click on any of the above pictures to see more of Smitten. I hope the next time you are in McKinney you'll stop by and visit Karen's shop. She is also opening a new store really soon, "The Flea", that will be located a few doors down from The Antique Company Mall. I can't wait to visit her new place. Happy Wednesday to you all and be sure and visit Kathleen's blog for all the White Wednesday participants.

Antique Company Mall Vendors
As I said in a previous post, there are probably hundreds of vendors at the Antique Company Mall and with two floors packed, well there's lots to see. Here are just a small portion of the vendors that are there.
I want to start out with this vendor. She always has such an interesting space and I love some of the pieces of furniture that she brings in:

Since I'm new here, I don't remember her name, so maybe someone could help me.
Here's more of her space:
This booth is located at the front of the shop:
Ever since I first came into this shop, she has always had awnings.
There is so much to see in Carolyn's booth:
You could be here a while.
Here are two more great booths:
To see more, you can click on any of the above pictures. Each month I'll feature more vendors. Happy Tuesday to you all.
