Time's Flying

Happy Monday to you all!  Hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead.

We have snow forecasted later this week, yes in Texas.

Can you believe it was almost 70 today

and it will be in the 20's by Thursday.

I've really been under the weather this past weekend,

felt like I was trying to get the flu, yuk!!!  Hate that...

We are at the last day of the month for January,

this whole month has just flown by.

Don't forget Canton is this week!

Despite the cold forcast,

I see it won't keep some of you away as

you've already posted on Facebook that

you are planning a trip!

Here's one picture that I wanted to share with you, it's just too beautiful not too:

Stay warm and hope you all have a great week.

Destination McKinney

Last weekend, Junkin Buddy and I spent the day in McKinney and then took the scenic route home.  We had the best time, laughing and acting up as we normally do when we are together.  Nothings better than spending time with friends and eating at one of the best places in McKinney.  The Food was over the top as it always is and each time I visit Patina Green Home and Market I'm always so inspired to come home and try new recipes.  More on that in a bit.  Today since it's Vintage Inspiration Friday, I'm also linking this post with Debra's blog, so be sure and check out her's as well.

First I refluffed my booth at The Antique Company Mall:

Here's one of my new line of lamp shades with lights that I'm carrying:

The other's sold at the Red Barn show and I hope to have more in stock soon.  They are one of a kind ones so it's not something that is mass produced.  I decided a long time ago that I really want to sell old and unique items, which are getting harder to find.  It's sometimes hard for me to decide what to take to the shop since I'm also doing shows in between.  If you've seen something at the shows or shop and you think you are interested in it, please email me to inquire.

Once we finished, we headed down the street and made some detours along the way.  Our first stop was at Unique Unique Design, a few doors down from the mall.  They had had a big event the night before and were hurridly trying to redo.  I think the place looked just great. What do you think?

From there we headed down to see Vickie of Homepieces, but she had sold so many things that her shop was turned all kinds of ways, but you know that's a good think in this biz, to see SOLD signs.  I did not take pictures of her shop, so I'll have to go back next month and do a whole post just on her shop.

We also stopped in at Chase Hall.  They have the most intriquing things.

DEST MCK 013x

I loved this display, especially the cow pic.

This mirror was so unique and pretty:

From there we headed to Patina Green and it was a feast for the eyes.  As I said we really enjoyed our time here.  Very relaxing and the fact that the food was outstanding wasn't bad either.  Here are a few pics I took of the shop:

We did get a chance to see Jo in Quinlan and her shop really has had a turnaround in the last few weeks, again SOLD, SOLD, SOLD is what we saw.  I somehow managed to get a truck load with her.  Our last stop of the day was in Athens.  My battery was really low so sorry no pics, but I tell you that Gloria and her crew of vendors are sure working hard on that shop.  There were so many pretty things there and I could tell there was good cooking also going on as it smelled so good when we walked in.  They'll be having a trunk show pretty soon, details to follow.

Hope you all have a great Friday and weekend too.

Also, be sure and check out Nancy's new blog, My Romantic Prairie Home, as she takes you through her new journey of redoing a historic home in McKinney.  So happy for them, I know the place is going to be awesome once they are through redoing it.

White Wednesday & Beautiful Treasures

&This White Wednesday finds us at the Red Barn and all the beautiful tresures that were here.  If you didn't get to make it to the Red Barn in Round Top Texas, you can find each of these vendors this Spring at their respective shows.  I just don't guarantee they'll have these things as I saw many of their treasures finding new homes.  Hope you enjoy seeing these as much as I did.

We'll start with TOT's booth:

I hope you visit these girls this Spring at the shows, which is just around the corner.  We'll be back at Zapp Hall starting on Friday March 25!  Don't forget each show opens on a different date.  It's going to be an exciting time in Texas and for almost two weeks you can shop until your heart is content.

Also, be sure to check out the other White Wednesday participants at Kathleen's blog.

On another note, I finally got my tooth pulled yesterday.  For most, this is not a big deal but it's always a very anxious time for me as I had a bad experience in the past and seem to relive that experience everytime I go back to the dentist.  I have to say that while I was super nervous and the dental assistance could tell she said my blood pressure was sky high (when I normally have low blood pressure) and my pulse was racing like crazy, I just thank God he some how helped me make it through.  I've been needing to get this done for almost two years now, that's how long I've put it off.  It's over with and for that I'm thankful!

I also want to thank Ann of Hill Country House and Stephanie of  Southarn Charm Cottage (given to my other blog Discarded Forlorn) for the Stylish Blogger Award.  Thanks Ladies!!

Smelling Salts, Gentlemen, & Royal Attitudes

A while back on someone's blog, sorry I've forgotten which one, I saw the PBS Masterpiece Special, Downton Abbey introduced.  The show seemed intriquing, but now I'm hooked.  This past Sunday I missed it since we were coming back from the show, but I found that I can watch the previous episode online and thought I'd share it with you:

Watch the full episode. See more Masterpiece.

The scenery is just beautiful and you feel as if you are right there.  The series was filmed at Highclere Castle in Berkshire that was used as Downton Abbey, with the servants' living areas constructed and filmed at Ealing Studios.

The village of Bampton in Oxfordshire was used for filming the outdoor scenes, most notably St Mary's Church and the village library, which became the entrance to the cottage hospital (a cottage hospital~only during this time period would this have sounded cute).

Another program that I've really enjoyed watching is The Tudors.  Not all the episodes I've watched I've liked, but some have been interesting.

Now, if I can just find Oddities on my channels.  This program show cases a shop that reminds me so much of Uncommon Objects in Austin.  Happy late Thursday to you all!

The Red Barn January Show

I know you've probably read before on my blog that The Red Barn Antique Show always starts off the antiquing season for the year for us.  The crowds were great this time at the show and the sales were pretty good as well.  I found some awesome things for this show and a lot of what you will see did sell.  Here was my booth at the show:

A lot of the merchandise did go to new homes, but if there's something you see in the pictures email me to see if I still have it.  I'll show you more booths that were there at the show later this week.

I'm also linking up this post for Rebecca's White Wednesday posts.  Be sure and stop over and visit her blog for more WW inspiration.
