Step Into My Office

When at the Antique Shows my office is literally the open fields, open air, and stuff all around me. No not paperwork to be done, but the coolest things you can see in any direction you go. This past weekend we were in Warrenton to drop off the trailers and set up the tent. Of course how can you not wander off when there's so much to see all around you.

10 Days To Go!!

10 Days until you are at the heart of being in Junker's Paradise.

Zapp Hall opens on March 25th!!

Will you be there?

Have you made plans

or you waiting to be convinced

that you don't want to miss the greatest show on earth?

The best Antique Show is about to start and you don't have to wait much longer!!  Just think you are only 10 days away from being in the best part of Texas if you are coming out to Round Top/Warrenton for the antique shows.

If you've never been, expect to be overwelmed with coolest junk around.  You won't know which direction to start, there's just so much to see.  It's like summer camp for adults.  You can shop until you can't shop any longer. You'll have the best time.

I thought I'd give you a small preview at just a few things you'll find in my booth this year:

I'm bringing a little bit of it all,
 Industrial,
 Architectual,
Garden,
Ironstone,
unique and
different,

and just a whole lot of stuff.

BTW, Those red things in the picture are really cool.  Do you think they are windows or doors, you'll just have to see for yourself and wait until you see the other side of them?
Both trailers are packed to the brim.
I've searched high and low
for really different items and
I am really pleased with what I've found.

Hope you'll come and see us at Zapp Hall in downtown Warrenton Texas.

Don't forget about the Blog Party at my booth on Sunday, March 27 at 6m

Please sign up here if you are coming so that I can get an idea of how many to plan for.  And here's a fun treat for you.

Last Spring I had a challenge for those attending the party to make Name Tags (read about it here) so you could either be recognized by your blog/website or your name.  Well that's my challenge again for you this year.  So get crafting and make something creative that shows your blog name (or just your name if you don't have a blog) and those attending will vote for the best one.  Okay, if you are pressed for time like I am, just bring the one you made last year.  We won't tell anyone!  There will of course be a prize for the best name tag.

Also, if you are coming to the party, if you can please bring some type of finger food or snacks I would really appreciate you doing this.

Don't forget that Diane of Rosa & Josie's will be there selling her beautiful jewelry,
Gina of Peacock Park Design is bringing a surprise, and
Margo of Margo's Junkin Journal will have Flea Market Style Magazines for sale too.

It's going to fun.  See you soon.

It was 1982

Doesn't that year seem so many moons ago, 1982?  Can you possibly remember what you were doing in 1982.  Well, before I jump ahead of myself, let me tell you about 1981.  I was pregnant with my first baby and I couldn't hardly contain myself the thought of being a mother.  I had always wanted to be a mother.  It's the best job that I still have.  I had started to have complications and the doctors told me if I delivered this baby it would be a miracle.  I had placenta previa and had to take many precautions.  Now fast forward to 1982, when my little miracle was born on March 12, 1982 at 7pm.  He was so tiny, 6 lbs, 8 oz.

I couldn't stop holding him or looking at him.  He was just perfect.  I thought it would be fun to go back and see some of his pictures growing up.

Brandon has always been a child that loves sports, even to this day.  His first word was ball and at one time I counted over 20 balls and that was when he was about a year old.  When we would go to the store, that's all he ever wanted was some type of ball, football, baseball, beach ball, it didn't matter.
He played short stop from the time he was 5 years old until his senior year.

I know this picture makes him look like he has a huge belly but it was the wind blowing.

(Sorry about the quality of these photos. I had created a collage of his pictures and this was way before scanners or digital cameras came along)

I don't think he's changed much over the years, just looks a little older.

He still plays soft ball every chance he gets and of course he's going to hit a golf ball at every opportunity he can.

This was his senior picture:

Here he is with his brother:

Today is his 29th Birthday!! We are so proud of him.

We'll spend the day celebrating his day.  Happy Birthday son, we love you!!

Vintage Friday in Texas

It's another one of Debra's great Vintage Friday posts and I have a question for you?  You know if you've read my blog for any time that I have a booth at Zapp Hall, which is just 13 days away!!  Can you stand it?

This is what I want to know.  Are you coming to SELL at the antique shows in Round Top/Warrenton Texas?  If so, here's you chance to tell us where you are going to be located.  List your SHOW NAME, YOUR NAME, and LOCATION so that we can find you.  This show is so huge and covers many towns that you definately want to get the word out, so here's your chance to tell us.  It's like an antique show location map that can be printed out for those coming.  Now don't be shy, this isn't the time to be shy since I know you've searched high and low for awesome things.  So go on, tell us, curious minds want to know.

Here's my booth during a previous year:

The Clutter Antique Show is located in downtown Warrenton Tx right on Hwy 237, you can't miss it.  Look for this sign:

Zapp Hall is filled with wonderful vendors.  There are those that have been with the show many many years and new ones to the show.  These pictures caught my eye during previous shows:

Now down the road is the Marburger Farms Antique Show.  They are located right off Hwy 237.  Look for this sign and you know you are at the right place:

These displays caught my eye at Marburger Farms:

Now if blogger hadn't have kept messing up on me today, I would have added a lot more pics.  Be sure and go over and visit Debra also today.  Happy Friday to you all!

Events This Week

You are in for a real treat if you are looking for something to do this week.  If you are in the Georgetown Area, Gatherings of Georgetown is hosting a garage sale.  Girls and Guys I've been to their garage sale and I've always found lots of great things here.  It stars on Thursday, March 10 at 10:00 am until Saturday, March 12.

For the Fort Worth area there's The Dolly Johnson Antique Show that runs Friday March 11 through Saturday only, March 12.  From last years pictures, I've seen some amazing talent here, just look at Judy Hill's space:

For more inspirational photo's of this show, click HERE.

Last but not least is The Cat Springs Antique Show in Cat Springs Texas.  This show was always the start of the Antique Season in Round Top/Warrenton since it's not too far from this area.  I used to set up at this show and it was always so much fun being here. It starts on Saturday March 12 and goes until Sunday, March 13.

I wish I could say I was going to one of these places, but I have another special event to attend on Saturday March 12th that I'll share with you soon.  Happy Junkin!!

Shopping in Canton

Thursday was a good day to go to Canton.  The weather was beautiful and the grounds were literally packed with so many vendors.  I think there were more vendors than I'd seen in a long time.  I saw a lot of interesting things there and of course there were lots to choose from.  It's just like I said in my last post, I guess since it didn't jump out at me, that's why I didn't find much.  And it's not that I wasn't ready  to do some serious shopping, because if it would have been possible, I'd have gone the night before.  I did hear through several customers that had went on Wednesday that there was someone that was going around doing some serious buying.  I was told she was buying all the cool furniture that could be seen.  Would love to have been following this shopper around.

There was still plenty to see.  Just take a look at what Lillie and Maggie had displayed in their booths.  First up was Lillie of The Junk Palace:

Vintage Friday

Yesterday I met up with Joy of The Vintage Rabbit in Canton.  She came all the way from California!  It was so nice getting to meet her and her friends and the day couldn't have been more gorgeous.  There were tons and tons of vendors out so I hope they found lots of things while shopping.  Joy was so sweet and genuine and I hope she comes back shopping in Texas really soon.  Here we all are:

canton
She also brought me a gorgeous necklace that she made, thanks Joy!

As I've said there were so many vendors out on the grounds, but I guess either my taste is changing or I'm being more picky with what I found because I only found very few things.  It's not that I didn't see lots of great things, but I was looking for the wow "jump out at me" factor.  You know what I mean.  That special something that not everyone has, that really cool item that makes your heart skip a beat when you see it, that thing that you can't walk fast enough to see (and hope nobody gets in your way because well you might just have to knock them down and say excuse on the way over them, just kidding, but you know what I mean).  I'll show you what I found this weekend in another post.

After loading up, we headed on down to Quinlan Texas to see our famous Jo (you do remember she was recently featured in the Flea Market Style Magazine) at The Hunt County Trade Center (if you'll click on this link you'll see some of the things she carries).  I did find several things with her, but as usual I always get to talking and forget to take pictures.

Our final stop was in Athens.  I don't know what it is about Winnie & Tulula's that just always seems to amaze me with all the decorating talent that's in this shop, just take a look :

They recently had a Wedding Reception here and the big screens were used as part of the reception.  Aren't they fabulous.

Look at this awning in Margo's space.  You all know how I feel about awnings!

I'll also show you this weekend what else I saw in Canton.

Today I'm joining Debra today for her Vintage Inspriration Friday posts, so be sure and stop over and see her too.

Happy Friday to you all.

Thank you so much for following:
