Collections

I thought I'd share with you a few of my collections:

Here are a few of my concrete and metal urns/vases:

I love bird nests; they are like gifts that are left behind from the previous season:

Ironstone pitchers, plates, butter pats and my floral dishes always make me smile:

I like anything that advertises gardens or seasons:

My collection of wooden finials is growing as are my shaving mirrors:

This is a small portion of my white McCoy vases and pressed flowers in small round glass frames:

I've only recently started collecting lambs:

My collections of wasp nests is growing thanks to my co-workers who thing I'm really weird for collecting these:

Trophy/Loving Cups are hard to find at a decent price in my area.

Tell me what you like to collect?

Chris has the coolest, most off the wall ideas, and I can't wait to see what creative things he'll do in the future!

  6. Love your collections- I think I might want to start a shaving mirror collection, too- for my bathroom, of course!

I've had collections of the matte white McCoy and Haeger vases like yours- and I mixed in some of the green with them. Right now, the collection I've had the longest and still shop for is brown transferware- especially the late 1800's aesthetic pieces. And I have collections of weird little things- like wooden advertising hangers, old birthday candle boxes, tin litho horns. I used to collect cheesy non PC American Indian tourist souveniers and adverting pieces, lusterware pitchers...oh, my I could go on and one- and you'll be sorry you asked!

  9. Wow, what great collections! I love the wasps nests -- they are beautiful.

I collect transferware dishes -- mostly red, but some blue, too. Also collect silver and silverplated things -- gravy boats and cups and creamers. My current favorite collection is milk glass -- still very affordable here. Also pressed flowers in frames and flower prints, tole trays, roosters, needlepoint and coin silver spoons. Phew, I think that's all for now. :)

    Have a great week!
    xoxo,
    Mary

  10. I like to collect ironstone too, Theresa.

I loved seeing all your collections.

We used to have three hornets nests. We gave 2 of them to a friend many years ago. The third was built on an old green farm yard light. It was really unique, but J's little beagle found it fun to play with. Even though it was up high, he managed to get to it. Beagles like to climb and can get over just about anything!

Here's my list of things I collect:brown and white transferware, flower frogs, old string, old architectural fragments, bird nests, bird houses, tarnished silver, bird cages, wire baskets, grain sacks from Europe, hoe shields, mirrors~especially shaving mirrors, mercury glass and old alarm clocks. I'm sure there's more but you all must be wondering where I put all that stuf???
