What a Show

Well, I do not even know where to begin telling you about this show.  First, let me just tell you what the running joke at my house is.  My husband says, if you want it to rain all you have to do is do a show.  And that's no lie.  It seems that EVERYTIME I get ready to do a show it rains.  Hello Lord are you trying to tell me something?  It rained the week before, which made getting my things ready for the show a bit difficult, but you just learn to work around it.  Then, it rained on Friday set up day.  Fortunately, I have a cleaver husband who backed up the trailer close enough to the building and he could just unload and not worry too much about the rain, but the mud.  Well that's another story that I'm sure you'll be reading about on other blogs. Janet was a smart girl when she showed up to the barn in PINK rain boots and they were so cute.  I saw so many great people and thanks to all the customers that came out and bought.  Despite the rain on Saturday it was a great turn out and Sunday was just so beautiful and the day turned out to be a great day too.

Okay, I know you want to know who all was there and what did their booths look like.  Well, these people go over the top when they are putting together their booths and displays.  Just so beautiful.  And I can tell you that Leftover's did no disappoint either.  We attended their party there on Saturday evening.  I'll do a separate post on this later in the week.

To start off, I want to show you my booth.  You know how it is when you are setting up a space and you have an idea in mind how you want it, well sometimes (for me at least) it works and other times it doesn't.  I was overall pleased with how it turned out though.

The turning rack sold.

Both cabinets went to a good home, thanks Lana, as did the garden chair.  I know Linda will have it looking too cute in her garden.  Can you see in the background I had tons of ironstone pilled high in aquariums.  I had taken a better picture of this display, but I guess I either deleted it or maybe it's still on the camera.

One of the candleabra's found a new home.  She said she was going to put it in her bedroom.  I'm sure it'll look pretty there.

The battery jar was a hit.  Several girls kept discussing where they could put it, what they would do with it, and one friend finally said if you don't buy it I will.  So off it went to a new home.

I had so much fun making these heart shaped Valentine's from roses from my garden.  There were a few hydrangea blooms thrown in too.  These all sold as did several of the cone Valentine's that I made as well.

This was the white shabby Mary statue that I had previously mentioned in a post.  Isn't she just beautiful.  I considered keeping her, but now Lisa is the proud owner.  All the spring wreaths sold as did the plate rack.

Here's another view of the table decorated with ironstone, the cutest egg cups and old ledgers.

White mirrors and wicker, two things I don't think I'll ever tire of.  Can you see the burlap fabric I put on the walls.  I just loved the texture of it.

I had two awnings at this show and both went to new homes.  Gardening items always seem to be a hit during this show, the bird bath and several of the concrete platforms sold.  The cute medical/hospital metal stand also sold.

I did enjoy the touches of red and pink that I added this time to my booth.  I know it's hard to make out but there was a concrete Angel on the pillows.  She's going to look so cute in Lisa's place.

There's more to come later in the week.  I'll show you who all I saw and some of the other fabulous vendors that were there.

  8. Teresa, I'm proud of you. The rain and mud is why I quit doing shows. It takes a strong woman to perservere in the show biz. It looked fun and sounds like it went well. I just remembered how I began following your blog - garden antiques. You are a wonder woman in my book. And, FYI, I had my truck buried up in mud the last show I did at Marburger.

  20. Theresa, I love all the photos of your booth. Of course it's not near as wonderful as being there and seeing it all first hand (and having a chance to buy). That Mary statue is particularly beautiful - love it!
