A Memorial to Tasha Tudor

I received an email last week that Tasha Tudor had passed. I was so sorry to hear this, what an inspirational person she was to this world. Not only was she a famous author of many many books, but she was gardener, a designer in her own rights, a doll maker, and she seemed to keep the genuineness that she grew up with that this world has lost. She lived in such a beautiful place and I can imagine that her home and gardens were just magical. I'm not sure that this world will ever see anyone as great as she was. She will truly be missed by so many.

When I first discovered her books, I was just entranced. I could spend hours looking through her books. I always loved reading about her in Victoria Magazine (they too have payed a special tribute to her) or watching the Christmas specials on PBS. I left a comment on the websites memorial, but I really wanted to pay tribute to this very special woman.

Because of her love of Corgi's is what inspired me to find mine. My heartfelt sympathies are with her family.

  1. This is the first I'd heard about her passing. She truly left the world a more beautiful place for having been in it. The first book I owned by her was Take Joy!, the Christmas book she wrote and when my oldest daughter learned the 23rd Psalm by heart I gave her the little book by Tasha Tudor that sweetly illustrated the Psalm.

  2. I never knew her books. I was most fascinated with her life and the way she lived as if it were the 19th century.

  3. I hadn't heard about Tasha Tudor's passing. I'm so sad . She was an amazing woman. I have several books about her lifestyle. I've aways been fascinated with that kind of life, and will continue to practice many of the historic living skills that she so loved.

  4. I didn't know she passed away either. What an icon of so many talents and what an inspiration to the millions (I'm guessing) who loved her and her lifestyle.

  5. I hadn't heard either, but was curious awhile back and checked on her website, nothing was mentioned. She will be truly missed. I see myself fashioning a lifestyle after hers, loving the simple life, my art, my dog and my love and respect for nature, slowing life down to really truly be in love with it... I always loved her pinks.
