More Inspirational Places

Last week when we at the Red Barn Show, we just had to go to the Leftovers Antique's Shop. They just have the best ideas, displays, and antiques that I've ever seen. For those of you that live out of state and maybe only get to visit this shop during the Round Top/Warrenton shows, here's your chance to view more of their inspirational things:

I also had the opportunity to stay with Linda and Ludmil and I wanted to show you their beautiful place:

Even the bird bath has glitter, Linda's signature style.

As a side note, you may have noticed I've placed a Copyright Notice on my blog that my pictures are not to be used without my permission. I first discovered my pictures were being copied when I looked at a blog post on Fifi's blog where she named someone that had copied her pictures and had not given her credit. She never posted where they originated from and that is just wrong. You need to give credit where credit is due!

  9. Thx for the pics--more inspiration as always from you!

Well, onto the touchy subject of photo lifting: Personally, I honestly don't care if people lift photos from my blog. My business is so busy that I barely have time to post, more less take a photo this is "lift worthy" haha. I guess I just have always assumed that people will have integrity and either properly link the photo back to me or provide proper credit. Either way, it isn't the end of the world to me as while my blog is an extension of Vintageweave, it's not part of the licensed corporation per se.

But I do understand that if one has a blog and not an additional website, then the blog alone serves as the single source of the blogger's ideas, talent, etc. so photo lifting becomes an entirely different issue.

I often see my stuff from my website on blogs--this is always appreciated and I NEVER have had an issue (that I am aware of) where they didn't link back to me.

    BUT....
Then there is the other category: Those who lift photos from my website & shop site. These photos are about commerce, part of my licensed corporation.

I was shocked this year when three separate VERY well known brick and morter "French-style" stores with websites lifted photos from my shop site and used it to sell the same or similar items on their own shop sites--these stores are in GA, NJ and No CALIF. Blows my mind each time I'm made aware of it!! As smart of a business woman that I am, I continue to be niave in believing other business owners who work their tails off as much as I do, would never "steal" ideas and call them their own, which is essentially what is done when photos are staged and posted on my website. One time a regular client who lives in GA alerted me to it--I was so shocked when I realized it was a well-known store/website. We're talking pretty large, pretty well-known sites whom i won't name as my intent is not to embarrass. My IT guy contacts them to remove (and then they do) but it always makes me laugh how people think it's an acceptable business practice.
Sorry you are experiencing a similar problem. The www opens itself up to continuing problems like this. You are smart to put a copyright and your name on each photo. Others can learn from you.

  15. Sorry about your pictures. They are amazing. I wish I could take pictures like that. It is something I am learning. It is so wrong to take someone else hard work.
