Anniversary spent in Austin Tx

When my husband asked me what I wanted to do for our Anniversary, many things came to mind, but the best idea was to spend it with our sons and to go antiquing in Austin. Sometimes I really do wish I lived either in Austin or Georgetown because these are my two favorite places to go. I had three full days to go anywhere that I wanted to, so the first day we spent in Georgetown at Gatherings. There are so many cool vignettes to see in this shop and each time I come here I see new displays of wonderful things. Here's what caused me to spend so much time here:

This was the display I took the other day when then the store was closed.

"Good Old Junk" just describes it best!!

Loved the white, all the white displays, especially the bowling pins:

They have butter pats!!

Great display!!

Our next stop was a few other shops and Antique Gallery in Round Rock, but unfortunately the pictures didn't download. I had some really great shots of Susan and Mickie and Brandy's space. Sorry girls.

The next day we were on to Austin City Wide. Our first stop was with Brandy and Mickie. Their space looked awesome and I did find a few great things with them:

This was Linda Parker's booth; loved all her displays as well:

Finally, I made a beeline for Hector's space. Found a few things with him as well:

Our last stop before lunch was at Uncommon Objects. Let me tell you, if you've never been to this shop, you are in for a treat. But, as my husband would say, bring a lunch because you will be here a while. I can't wait to bring my friend Theresa here in the Fall, she will be blown away as anyone who comes here for the first time! Of course, I've been here several times and I'm always blown away by the talent in this shop. Yes, this is one where my husband has to say, can we go now we've been here hours!!!

This was their window displays (sorry for the glare):

It's funny what caught my eye, all the things they had hanging from the ceiling, like these lights:

Lights made from old minnow buckets. Wouldn't this look cool in your potting shed or outdoor space:

This was Linda Parker's booth. I really liked the pendulum lights:

I'm always so drawn to Jeanette's space:

More awesome booths:

Our last stop of the day was at the Salt Lick BBQ Restaurant in Dripping Springs. The best BBQ in all of Texas, probably in all the U.S. My handsome men (oldest son, youngest son, nephew, and my honey) outside the Salt Lick:

Hope you enjoyed the trip and are inspired to check out these places.

  4. Girl, what can I say I wish I lived in Texas. I guess I'm going to have to start planning a trip about every 3 months to come and see you. The only bad thing is you have to ask off work for about 3 days every time I come!!! You think you boss will go for that??? I am so glad you had a great anniversary weekend, you deserve it! You know I love you like a sis! Girl I am counting to days until the fall Round Top Show.
Thanks for all those wonderful pictures. I would love to be surrounded by all those talented styliest every day of my life. Looking at great displays makes my heart beat real fast, and I like that feeling!!
