White Wednesday at Homestead

When we were in Hico this past weekend, we were told that the Homestead Store has a "White Store" and that we should check it out, so we did.  It was creamy and just the right shades of white in just the right building:

Look at the whites on this bed and burlap bags in the background could have so many uses.

You know I love gardening things and this statue was sure calling my name.

Cute cones, ready to give as a gift.

The large cinnamon sticks were a big hit with customers.

Can you see the limestone on the building.

 Another gardening statue, too pretty.

A wall of pictures, great idea. I probably will have to steal, I mean borrow this idea.

Vintage pages with dried botanicals.  What a great collection they had.

Next time you are in Hico, check out The Homesteads White Store.  It's located right around the corner from their main store.

  1. This has to be the Homestead Stores that were in Fredricksburg. Did they move or open additional stores? I can still remember the 1st time I walked into their white store. Great pictures! Jan

  12. Been in Texas ALL my life but never run across Hico...it is a BIG state you know. Sounds like a nice day trip to a great white store. We might do a tug-o-war for the garden statues though!
And you are welcome to 'lurk' anytime but I sure love to hear from my visitors too. I know sometimes time is a factor and just popping around is all we can do. Fun times in blogland.
    Wednesday Blessings ;-)

You can wash new burlap to give it an old look. Watch out...it makes a really big mess but it's worth it!

  27. Room No. 5 was the original white Homestead store in Fredericksburg, as I know YOU know. That store shaped my image of what truly glorious design and display should look like. It transported you, pure and simple.
    Great pics!

I was in Fredericksburg many years ago and had the opportunity to shop at the original white store...it was so wonderful, I'll never forget it. I wanted to bring it all home (too bad I had to fly)!
