Let The Antiquing Begin

This is a new year, new month, and new antique adventures are starting here in Texas. Since it's a new month, I'm also linking up with Kathleen again to start off her White Wednesday posts

January always starts off our year with being at the Red Barn Winter Antiques Show  in Round Top Texas.  I can't think of a better place to start off the year antiquing than being in beautiful Round Top Texas.  Not only is the drive there just picturesque, but since this is the area that we eventually want to call home, it's always such a treat coming this way.  There are so many places to visit while you are here, but more on that further down the post.

The Red Barn Antique Show hosts four shows a year and we are fortunate enough to be found here twice a year, January and June.  The 30,000 square foot building hosts some of the best dealers/designers in the business and it's heated in the winter and cool in the summer.  If you are needing inspiration, this is the place to be (that one's for you Kristi!).  This covered barn will allow you to shop until you literally drop with all that can be found here with no worry of the elements outside.  The weather man is already forcasting a cold spell next week, but don't let that stop you.  They also normally host a food vendor so you can even stop shopping just long enough to grab a bite to eat and then continue finding your next vintage treasure.

The WINTER ANTIQUES SHOW starts on:

January 15 & 16, 2011 (mark your calendars)

9 to 5 on Saturday and 10 to 4 on Sunday

$5.00 Admission is good for both days

For more information, click HERE

I hope you're planning on coming out to see us.  We have hit the junkin road during the past few months and always save our best treasures for this show.  We have found some really awesome things that you'll just have to come and see for yourself.

Here are pictures of different booths during the past show:

Don't forget that Round Top Texas is home to Royer's (famous for their pies & awesome food).  Festival Hill can be found in Round Top as well and it is just so beautiful to walk through their gardens and see their buildings that are here.  There are several towns that you can continue your antiquing adventure at, like in Round Top, Carmine and Brenham, and don't forget that the Leftover's Antique Shop can be found in Brenham.  You can spend the day here and there are beautiful B&B's in the areas that would make your trip worth while staying at.  While you are here, why not drive by and see the Outpost Inn which is now called THE RANCH that Rachel Ashwell recently purchased.  I'm sure she's going to totally transform this place.

Oh and in case you are wondering how close we are to
Antique Week starting in Texas:
We are 78 days away, can you believe it!!

On a last note, I just have to say thank you to all of you that leave me comments.
You make my day!!

  6. Hi Joanna, I am really loving the newest issue of Country Living and it finally dawned on my why your name sounded so familiar. It's because you were in a previous issue of Country Living and I have that magazine dogeared with pages of your home. You have great taste and I love seeing all your pretty things.
