Since my last post eluded to visiting Rachel Ashwell's beautiful Prairie Ranch in Round Top Texas I thought I'd go ahead and start off my show posts with this one. Rachel had had a dinner party on the Monday before the shows started and had invited several to attend. I was so bummed that I couldn't attend since I was still working before the shows started, but then her assistant Jaime stopped by my booth at Zapp Hall and exclusively invited me and a couple of friends to come and tour the Ranch. I couldn't hardly contain my excitement of being able to see it.
The Ranch was just beautiful. At every turn there was such beauty and romantic touches, all Rachel's style. There was a serenity and peacefulness to the Ranch that was just so calming. I could see myself being locked away here and never wanting to leave.
The colors she choose and the pieces she used in the various cottages was just perfect. Take a look for yourself:

It was so big and roomy.
Here's another view of the kitchen/dining area for the guests:
I took about 80 pictures of Rachel's ranch and I just couldn't get over just how beautiful it was. Vintage inspired wallpaper and paint colors were used all throughout the rooms in the main house and cottages. I had the opportunity to invite a few friends to go with me and tour the place.
Thanks Theresa and Christie for going along with me.
They are planning on moving a wonderful old house that they will turn into a store, hopefully to be opened by the Fall Antique Shows. I hope if you get a chance to visit The Prairie that you will do so. It was just magical!!
Thanks again Jaime and Rachel for allowing us a tour of such a beautiful place.
I'm linking up with Kathleen for this post so be sure and stop over and see all the other participants for White Wednesday.

I was really looking forward to your tour today. How many cottages are there for rent at the Prairie Ranch? Which one was your favorite? I would love to go there in the fall and finally meet all of you girls and now seeing this beautiful place makes me want to even more.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! What a treat this must have been! I would have loved to have been there with you.. I really enjoy Rachels style..especially the new Prairie style .. it is so relaxed and comfortable .. I am working hard at creating that same feeling with the things we do ..Glad that Christie and Tot got to join you .. I know Christie was probably dying inside .. What a treat! So sorry I missed this time, but we are thinking about trying to get into the Marburger artisan tent for the fall .. if it doesn't conflict with An Affair of the Heart ib OKC ..
