It will now buy you a tank of gas in Houston! Is this outrageous or what and they are predicting it will be this high in other parts of the state come the summer. Maybe it's not a bad thing that I've put all shows ON HOLD.

As soon as my computer guy (aka nephew) fixes my computer, I'll be back to posting pictures of the show. Not a good time for the computer to stop working, but then the bug has hit Janet's home too. Hope you all have a great week.
Gas here is $3.79 and yesterday's trip to the pump was $75. I am really considering a different line of work as a result. As much as I love junking and fixing up my finds to sell I am seriously getting tired of people asking for the discount considering the cost of my space plus gas, plus paint, plus time. Sorry, just venting a bit. It is outrageous!
ReplyDeleteHere is CT it is well over $4.00 a gallon!!! And our Governor wants to add another $3.00 onto that. How are people supposed to get to work if they can't pay for gas? Craaaaaazy!

ouch! it's steadily climbing here too my friend and i agree with the previous comment about people wanting deep discounts on our junque. we may all be looking for something else to do!
ReplyDeletehugs,

It's a sad day when we are remembering the good old days when gas was 2.89! It is 3.89 here and that makes driving out pick up almost unbearable! oh the good old days:)
ReplyDeleteI can see how it would put shows on hold for you, heck going to the next town to shop for groceries is a big ordeal! xoxo
p.s. love you newest header! xoxo
ReplyDeleteGas our time and yes to mention what it takes to make it look good, I only allow a 10 percent discount now.........Have a great week. HUGS MARY
ReplyDeleteI'M WORRY TOO. I GOT THE WORST TWO SATURDAYS IN A ROW SINCE I STARTED MY BUSINESS 15 YEARS AGO. MY HUSBAND KEEP TELLING ME IS BECAUSE WE MOVED, I DON'T THINK SO. DECEMBER AND JANUARY WERE REALLY GOOD MONTHS. I SEE IT WHEN I TRAVEL TO OTHER SHOPS, SOMETIMES THEY ARE BUSY BUT THERE IS NO SALES GOING ON. ANN THE MOM AND POP SHOPS WERE IN THE NEWS LAST NIGHT WITH TALKS OF INCREASING OUR TAXES.SOMETHING OR SOMEONE GOT TO GIVE. I REALLY WANT TO SEE THE GOVERNMENT GIVING UP THEIR LIFESTYLE. BLESSINGS, MARTA.
ReplyDeleteIt is CRAZY but, the cost for all us middle class WORKING people is scary.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Democrats are proposing the added TAX of fuel (that they are pushing for right now) will help fund the shortfall in the National Budget... In other words tax us some more on already expensive fuel to continue their spending... I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!! Thank you I think we are paying too much anyway. Really what has changed since we paid $2.89 last year??????
It is time that we Americans wake up or we will be paying what Europeans are... $6.00 a Liter!!!! A liter is LESS THAN A GALLON!!!!!!!! YIKES!
If I get up on my soapbox...you'll never get me down. I'm so tired of the tired old excuses for gas being so high. To my way of thinking there is only one and that is greed...plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I can't believe gas prices in LA...they are $4.53. It's absolutely CRAZY. How are we going to ever be able to drive anyplace again...2012, here we come!
ReplyDeleteBut I know I will always be albe to find my way back to TEXAS!!!
Hugs,
Susie Q
You sure hit a nerve here! Gas was under 25 CENTS a gallon when I was in high school, and the cute guy at the gas station pumped it for you, cleaned the windshield, checked the oil and gave you a salad bowl - now those were the days! (And for you young things that think that must have been a hundred years ago, think again - it was "just" the 1970s.)

I just paid $4.25. Cost me $60 to fill it and it got me to a flea market 2.5 hrs away and back. I'm not so sure it's worth it anymore! I did see 4.99 at one station yesterday and it was EMPTY! lol
ReplyDeleteHey Theresa....I'm SORRY fuel has taken a HIKE towards the Heavens....If it's any consolation, we're paying APPROX $5.63 per gallon at the moment (there are 3.78 litres in a gallon & we're currently paying $1.49 p/litre).... :o(
ReplyDeleteNot good for either of us hey....!!
Cheers for now from Oz,
Tamarah :o)
I sat at a red light and watched them change the sign from $3.59 to $3.79...OUCH! Gettin' tough to go Junkin'!
ReplyDeleteDenis
