Each Spring and Fall I take a working vacation to spend it in Round Top/Warrenton Texas selling at the Antique Shows. For the past two shows I've been at the Marburger Farm Antique Show in Round Top Texas. Many years prior to this I was in the heart of Warrenton at the Zapp Hall show. Spending time at both shows is great as I still have many friends at Zapp Hall.
I was able to search for new things in the evenings and spend time with friends. There's just such a buzz in what we call "the fields". Spending time at the shows allows me time to restore my soul and see friends that I normally only get to see twice a year. I still have a full time job and this September I can say I'm finally eligible to retire. I don't know if I'll actually retire but the feeling that I can is great.
Visiting all the shows here, you can tell there are many vendors that pour out their heart to set up at these shows. It takes a lot to spend anywhere from three weeks to 10 days (as I do) in a cow pasture, but I love it. I love the new people that I've met, the friends I've made along the way, the awesome displays I see, and just the great junk that normally you can't see any other place other than here.
There was so much to see during this show. I don't think I've seen this many vendors before at the shows and the customers that came out I believe broke records. There were cars in both directions at any given time of day and you normally only see this when everyone is heading home in the evening.
I wanted to quickly share with you a few spaces that caught my eye. There were so much more that I can share with you so these are only a few for now.
My space at Marburger Farm:
He'll be at the Homestead Spring Antique Fair in May in Hico Texas.
I loved this garden display she put together.
Theresa of Time Worn Interior's booth at Marburger Farm:
All the vintage ticking pillows and mattress looked great in her booth.
and Stash at Zapp Hall:
I hope to show you much more in the upcoming weeks. Thanks to all that came out to the show to see me.

Looks so awesome! We missed all of it this year - too busy getting our shop ready to open! Hope you sold TONS and just for the record RETIRE IN SEPTEMBER!!!! : )
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that the show was great. Your booth did look awesome. There's a lot of mixed emotions after one of these shows, I know, exhausted, elated, happy, a little sad, but overall it's what we do and I miss that excitement. I'm with Stephanie... go for the retirement...... you'll LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteI was there! Your booth is the only one I bought from. So nice to meet you!
