Montgomery Texas Antique Show

Here are photo's of our booth from this weekend's show:

This was probably my favorite display of all. Unfortunately, most of the people that came out to this show just didn't get this display. I wish you could have been there to hear some of their comments. I would have to laugh when I'd hear them say things like, I'd never think to do that or why would you want to use those. There were just a handful that said they decorate with wasp's nests. Even the guys seemed intriqued with them.  Some didn't comment but the look on their faces was priceless.

Here's another view:

Loved this awning:

My husband's bike also received many comments, some said they had one very similar growing up:

Bed of ivy with ironstone:

Queen Anne's Lace is already in full bloom on the side of the roads, isn't it pretty:

Click here if you want to see more.  I have to thank Erlene and Chuck for coming from Lufkin to see us.  I loved visiting with them and hearing Chuck's stories, we'll have to do that again really soon, maybe in Louisiana, since I'm now very interested to shop at the places he mentioned, whatya say?

Also, Cathi of Calsidyrose for making a detour to see me as well.  Here she is:

You have to check out her blog.  She's got such a heart of gold for rescueing animals and she just recently lost a beloved pet.  I can relate to her.  Go over when you get a chance and leave her a comment.

The next booth belonged to Cindy and her mom Charlotte:
Look at this pretty French iron bed.

These doors were super fabulous.  There's Cindy in the background.

Here's a cute iron plant stand:

This was her "music man" as she called him, isn't she too cleaver:

What a pretty mantel she had:

Be sure and check out her website for more inspiration.  And, the best news is, if you see what you like, then come and see what she'll have in the Fall because she's going to be a new vendor at Zapp Hall.  I'm really excited for her!  You know what this means Cindy, you're going to have to go shopping!!

Hope you all had a great weekend and thanks to the customers that came out.

  7. I love interesting displays and get a lot of inspiration from Anthropologie. I've never seen a wasp nest so I wasn't sure what your first photo actually was. If you asked my Mom..she would tell you I decorate with cob webs. LOL...Guess that's what happens when you have too much junk in the house. :(

  11. Theresa: I so enjoyed talking with you on Saturday! What a hoot about the folks who didn't "get" the wasp-nest display. I thought it was so cool.

Thanks ever so much for mentioning my blog, "El Rancho Not So Grande". I went on to do dog adoptions for the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. We have some wonderful fur-babies who could be somebody's next best friend. BTW--you got my good side in the photo!

I am saving for one of your awesome vintage fish tanks! But first I have an A/C unit to replace first--you know we gotta have our air-coolin' here in south Texas!

Take care and keep up the great work. Yours from Southeast Texas, Cathi

  12. Ooooo, I LOVE the wasp nest display! I find it so interesting how such creatures can create something so beautiful and unique. I once found a bee's "nest"/comb(?) in the shape of a heart that I looked forward to using in a mixed media piece...until my 95-lb lab found a better use for it, lol! Gorgeous displays, sweetie!

  13. You made me laugh about the wasps nest. Just yesterday Mr. OTM and I were at the shop unloading some junk and he picked up a wasps nest that had falled on the ground by the back door.Just as he was throwing it in the garbage I screamed "STOP" and he looks at me and says~ "You,ve got to be kidding me, seriously a wasps nest!?"
Oh yeah...it's only about the size of a baseball but now I can't wait to show him your post!!
    You always make my day!!
