White Wednesday in Boerne

Today is another one of Kathleen's White Wednesday's and I couldn't wait to show you this shop I found in Boerne Tx, Topsy Turvy, for this post.  Now, while normally I wouldn't be drawn to a shop such as this one, because it's a children's shop and since I no longer have small children anymore nor do I have any grand kids, but as soon as I peeked into the windows, I most definately had to check it out

Here's what caught my eye:

This beautiful white dreamy display with such pretty linens and soaps too.

I really loved that the columns and architectual pieces seemed to be just all piled together:

There were lots of pretty linens to choose from:

But what really caught my eye were the book pages that were used like a border.

Remember in my last post I mentioned that if the windows were displayed well I'd be more curious to check out a shop, well this definately was true for this one.  Not only were their windows displayed so appealing but the outside was decorated just as cute.  The minute I walked in and saw all the vintage things that were being used, well I wanted to stay longer just to check them out.  Even though the children's items were really displayed so pretty, it was just such a cute shop.  They had chippy white shutters and columns, mirrors, and beds, and I loved the awnings, wooden ones too, which are so hard to find.

Here was one of the awnings displayed in the store:

I believe there were three of them.

I also really liked this display above the entry way:

Here was a cute chippy white cabinet:

Filled with more pretty things.

See what I mean about the outside of the building:

This was jasmine I believe that was growing on the arbor.  It smelled so good as you walked past it.

Frank, the owner, sent me the nicest email before I even did this post on his shop.  One of his staff had seen my header of his shop and had told him about it.  He mentioned he is actually moving back into the Vintage Bliss building (which is actually known as the Staffel Building), sometime in June.

He said he previously had two shops, Topsy Turvy and Cielo (which in English means Heaven).  Cielo was a home decorator shop in the same building that Vintage Bliss is in.  He said he's decided to close the Topsy Turvy kid's shop and re-open the home decorator shop, which should open sometime in July.  His new vision is to offer slip covered pieces with European soaps, and decorative accessories.  I can't wait to go back and check out his new shop.  I'll keep you posted when it will open so that you too can check it out.

Happy Wednesday to you all and be sure and check out Kathleen's blog for all that are participating in the White Wednesday post.  You can also check out the Topsy Turvy's website here.

  6. What awesome displays. You are so right about the displays drawing you inside, or not. I've also gone inside the "or not" shops and have been pleasantly surprised, but wanted to tell them to clean up the front and they'd have better business. I think I feel that way because my dream is to have a shop, but it's not the right time for me right now and I always feel like "if this was mine I would try so much harder" Sorry to go on and on today.

Thanks for sharing such a great place.
