Reflections of 2010

WARNING:  This may be a long post, so grab your favorite drink!!

I thought it would be fun to go back over 2010 and reflect on certain events.  2010 started out with me having computer problems, not a good way to start a year especially if you like to blog as much as I do.  It did start out really cold as well this year, well at least for Texas, since we are used to wearing shorts at Christmas and we even had snow in our neck of the woods during February.

Here's a month by month recap, hope you enjoy.

January:

We always start off the January shows by being at The Red Barn Winter Antiques Show in Round Top Texas and this next year will be no different.  We'll be there from January 15-16, 2011, but more on that in another post.  Here are past pictures of my booth there:

February:

This month, myself as well as several of my friends, were featured in the Texas Live Magazine.  I also mentioned that I was looking for a new address, which is still ongoing.  We are constantly looking for our dream place to settle in when we retire in three years and we are in no hurry to find our new place, but it is fun looking out at the Real Estate market.  Here's a picture similar to the dream place we are looking for:

Can't you just picture this house being in Round Top?

March:

March found me getting myself ready for two shows, Accumulations Hill Country Home and Garden Fair, and the Zapp Hall Antique Show along with celebrating our oldest son's Birthday.  This was the Accumulations second show and it was a great success.  I also had the great honor of meeting several wonderful bloggers during the shows as well as several others that stopped in to say hello and tell me they read my blog.  I hosted Gina Galvin of Peacock Park for the blog party and we had such a great time.  Here are past pics of Zapp Hall show:

April:

I highlighted a lot that went on at the Antique shows in April.  This is usually about the time I can catch my breath from preparing for the big shows many many months in advance, except for I found myself getting ready for another show at the end of April.  This show was held at Amy's store, Bloom and Bee Swanky in Waco.  It was a fun time spending several days with Amy and being in her beautiful shop.

May:

May always seem to be a busy month for me because it's Mother's Day and my Birthday month.  Of course I didn't slow down any this month either as I had a show that I did in Montgomery Texas.  I went to the first HEAP show in Tyler and then it was on to Hico Texas for the Homestead Show.  Here's what I saw in Hico:

We were also featured again in Texas Live Magazine which highlighted the Blog Party that is held in my booth each Spring and Fall at Zapp Hall.  I also found myself heading to Boerne to visit the last few days at the Vintage Bliss Shop before it closed, but then I found another great place, Topsy Turvy which is now located in the building that Vintage Bliss was in and is now called Cielo.  I so want to go back and visit it since they've moved.  Here's what caught my eye in their shop then:

June:

I could be found hitting the road again in June to attend one of Judy Hill's fabulous Home Shows in Kilgore and then I headed to Terrell Texas to go to the Midnight Summer Dream show, yes all in one day and driving through the rain.  I had a blast at each place. This is also my husband's birthday month and he turned the big 5-0!!  I then found myself getting my things ready for The Summer Antiques Show at The Big Red Barn in Round Top Texas at the end of June.  Here were a few pics of the shows:

July:

July is our Anniversary month and again we hit the road to Dallas and McKinney.  We then hit the road again to be found in Burton Texas for the Summer Soiree show.

August:

This is my youngest son's Birthday month and I also found myself moving into the Antique Company Mall in McKinney Texas.  So, I was planning my son's birthday, moving into a mall, and getting my things ready for another show that was held in Kilgore Texas.  We joined Judy Hill with several others for a one day show at her place.

September:

Found me hurridly getting my things ready for the Fall shows at Zapp Hall in Warrenton Texas.  I always feel that when the Fall shows come around that I seem to have less time to get everything ready and I'm working until the 9th hour, but some how I seem to get it all done.  I got to hang out with these girls during the shows:

Laurie, Polly, TOT, and Beth.

October:

This month I highlighted things that went on at the shows and even found time to attend The Homestead Show in Hico Tx as well as getting ready again for The Accumulations show in Driftwood.

November:

This was a sad month for us as we lost our Mother-in-law, but we have to keep reminding ourselves that she is no longer in pain and in a much better place.  During the month, we headed to Royce City to see Mindy's new shop opening.  I also got to take a field trip to see Ann of The Tin Rabbit's place in Melrose Texas.  What a delight that was, I always enjoy seeing her beautiful place:

December:

The month of December just came in with the wind and has just about blown through as fast it makes me wonder just where this month and year for that matter has gone.  I was just blown away at Judy's Home show that I attended at the beginning of the month.  She is the queen of creativity, as you can see:

I also got to travel down to Belton to see Marta's new shop opening and then to Georgetown to see Gatherings.  That was a lot of fun seeing Marta's creativity into action and of course Gatherings is always a delight to see.  All the while preparing for Christmas and getting to McKinney to redo my space and to see Smitten's Open House.  For a third time this year, I was featured in Texas Live Magazine (thanks girls for always doing such a great job).

What a year it's been. I can't see that I really slowed down much, but it was so much fun getting to see all the great places that we did get to see. I know that I have so much to be thankful for and I want to thank each and everyone of you that have taken the time to leave me comments or find me at the different shows to tell me you read my blog, that always touches me so.
While this year seems to have just flown by, just like it says in ~ James 4:14 ~

Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow.
For what is your life?
It is even a vapor,
that appears for a little time,
and then vanishes away.

We are not promised tomorrow and the time we do have here is like a vapor.  I hope you enjoy those that you love whether family or friends and you don't take them for granted.  Take the time to tell them how much you love them and cherish them while you have the chance.

I want to wish each and every one of you a very prosperous and Happy New Year!! Here's to 2011 and New Beginnings!!
