Bohemian Finds

Today it was an extemely cold day in Texas.  So, what do you think I did today?  Stay in... no.  Take it easy...no.  Call me (well us) crazy.  We went to the Canton Texas Flea Market.  Knowing there weren't many vendors on the grounds, we still went.  We just bundled up real good, lots and lots of layers, two pairs of socks, gloves, scarves and your shopping cart.  That's all that was needed.  We still managed to find several things even though there were maybe five (well there may have been more) vendors on the grounds that were open.  Most were closed, but then could you blame them.  I know several that are headed to Canton tomorrow and I believe there is snow forcasted for that area as it is ours.

I found items that reminded me of Bohemian Finds.

 Dark leather books,
velvet covered books,
a french and german book and
children's litheograph book,
time worn loved books.

I also came across a small oriental rug
that after photographing on my table
I thought would really look cute on a table.

The sweetest doll lamp (you can see her below and in a future post)
that believe it or not
still works
(I'm keeping her to add to my collection).

A very worn and tattered suitcase
with the cutiest initials on it,
a painted portrait,
oval frame and several other finds.

Take a look for yourself:

finds

I found several other things that aren't in the picture.  You'll just have to head to McKinney to see it all.  All these things will be available at my booth at The Antique Company Mall  in McKinney Texas, sometime this weekend.  Of course, if the weather permits.

We also stopped by Laurie Anna's vintage home in Canton.  Her shop always looks so beautiful.  I'll be doing a future post on her place as well.

Of course I couldn't resist stopping by Winnie and Tulula's in Athens since after passing by their windows that morning, they were beckoning me to stop.  Well there was actually a lady in the window waving to everyone, you'll just have to check back to see what I mean.

Hope you are staying warm!!

  6. I can't believe you went to Canton. I should have told you to swing by Frisco and pick me up! I bet the vendors were happy to see you there. We had a ton of snow last night, so I am not sure if I will go tomorrow or not. CrAzY weather!!
