Well I did it again. I missed my Blog Anniversary (October 17, 2006), but that doesn't mean I still can't celebrate. I thought it would be fun to share what I've learned in the 6 years since I've had my blog.
1. I guess the first thing I've learned is, you can make true and lasting friendships from people that you first "meet" on the internet. When people started commenting on my blog (and in the beginning there weren't many), and after reading about them on their blogs, I thought it would be great to actually meet them. Then I finally did meet them and was able to put a face with their blog, well that was the most fun part of all this process. Especially when after mentioning them in my first post. You'll have to go back and read my first post to see who I'm talking about.
2. Next I learned that if you start a blog, other's will follow. I remember seeing the look on people's faces when I would tell them I had started a blog. They'd get this funny look on their face and say, "you've started a what?" But it wasn't long before they were emailing me telling me they'd taken the leap of faith too! Now that was exciting, huh Deb?
3. I learned that dreams come true and at times you never expected it or thought it could really happen. Like being in several magazines, how exciting that was. Or that I would be hired by the one of the top Antique Shows in Texas and of all things to do what, BLOG!! See you never know where your blog will take you.
4. I learned that if you pour your heart out about something that's going on in your life, there are people on the other end that may not know you personally, but are there to support you no matter what!
5. The internet is full of inspiration, from Blogs to Facebook and now Pinterest. When I first started blogging I would look at blogs just for the pictures (yes I admit it). I mean how could not be in awe at someone that had created this awesome display that was hundred's of miles away and you felt like you were really there. I learned that inspiration comes just when you need it. I might have read a story about someone that was going through something far worse than I, or had just opened a business and the joy of owning their first store was exciting to read, blogs for me were better at times than any magazine or newspaper.
I could go on and on about what blogging has meant for me and what all I've learned. I still feel there is so much more to learn and I don't want to stop learning new things.
I feel so grateful to have joined this awesome world of blogging and the people I've met through the years is priceless. I'm thankful for all the awesome opportunities that have come my way, thanks to blogging.
Hopefully here's to many more years of blogging. So to say thank you for supporting me and encouraging me and stopping in to introduce yourself at shows or wherever, if you will leave me a comment telling me what inspires you to keep blogging or if you don't have a blog but you faithfully read blogs you too can leave me a comment (that means you too Honey).
I'll throw your name in a hat and on October 31 will select someone to receive the newest issue of Jeanne D'Arc Living Magazine. This magazine has become by far one of my favorite magazines to receive each month. Just so you know you can't buy this magazine in any bookstores, it has to be ordered online. I'll be glad to share Karen's email with you if you are interested in ordering it from her. Just make sure to include your email with your comment. Thank you again for making my day!
I wanted to share pictures of my booth again with you that April Pizana took. That girl just has a way with a camera and again between her and Sarah, their pictures are just awesome. Enjoy!

Darlin'...you are the Pied Piper of blogging. Where you lead...I gladly follow and I don't think I'm the only one. I don't know of a soul who doesn't owe you a big thank you (especially me) for the big ol' kick in the pants you gave each of us to start blogging. Without your help and encouragement...I'd still be playing Solitaire.
ReplyDeleteLove you to the moon and back...with every stop in between.
XOXO
