Cinco de Mayo Weekend

We had a fun filled Cinco de Mayo weekend and went so many places I don't know where to start.  We started out the day on the junkin road and found lots of fun treasures.  From one sale to another we just kept finding really great things, from industrial finds to garden items, furniture, mirrors, and many smalls it took a while to unload the truck.  I'm now set not only for the Urban Market show in Houston in a few weeks to getting ready to head to Fredericksburg to set up at their Trade Days.  Of course could you find too many treasures.

The fun part of this weekend is that we had been invited to the Junk Gypsies new store, which isn't even finished yet, for the airing of their new television show on HGTV.  It was so exciting seeing them on HGTV and getting to experience the show with them and friends was just awesome.  We are so happy for them that they have their own show and will most definitely be putting their own spin to it.  They served awesome Mikeska BBQ and Royer's Pie.  What could have been better to celebrate their show.  Take a look at how their store is beginning to take shape:

Here's my mom in front of the store.  Can't wait to see it once it's finished.

Just look at the detail inside:

It's most definitely going to be a beautiful store.

Here are some of the beautiful doors being used in the store:

Here's just an idea of the crowd that was there:

And hey who is this:

Our one and only Deb and CD.

Be sure to check out when Amy, Jolie's and Janie's new show will air on HGTV.  You can click on their name above for more details.

Before we made it the JG Party, we stopped in Navasota Texas to do some antiquing.  I'll be doing a post this week on Cindy Clark's space at The French Market.

From there we headed to The Chapel Hill Lavender Farm.  I bought some lavender to make shortbread lavender cookies. I didn't realize that you couldn't use just any lavender to cook with.  You have to use a special kind that doesn't have so much camfo in it?  Glad I found this out.

We then headed down the road to the Leftover's Antique Shop in Brenham and had so much fun seeing all their great displays.  I too will have an entire post on their awesome shop coming up next week.  In the meantime, here's a quick view of both places:

Cindy had these great riding hats in her booth:

And it must have a riding hat theme because Leftover's too had some in their store:

Reminds me of the Hunting Post I did here on riding hats.

On Sunday, we headed toward Montgomery Texas to check out their antique show.  We always have to drive and check out the older homes in this area.  I love some of the homes here:

This is probably my favorite house in town.  It's located right in the center of town.

Here's another great home:

I hope your weekend was just as fun as mine.

  1. Girl you have been busy! I wondered why you were at Leftovers when you sent me the picture.

OMGoodness the JG store is gonna be awesome! I can't wait to see it. I'm guessing they will have it opened in Oct.?

The riding hats were probably out because of the KENTUCKY DERBY this weekend. You think?
