White Wednesday @ Leftover's

Welcome to another one of Kathleen's White Wednesday's and for this post I wanted to take you to one of favorite shops in Brenham Tx, Leftover's Antique Shop.  This past Saturday after the show, we stopped by to see their items they'd brought in, their awesome displays and just for some inspiration.  Tell me what you think:

The patina on these doors was just awesome as was this child's rocking horse.

A cute display.

I loved this wall of shelves.  Can you imagine having this in your house and the potential for it.

Looking for a tub, they had one, hanging up just for you.

I'll take this entire display, shoe and all.

Click on any of the pictures above to see more.  I hope you also head on over to Kathleen's blog and visit all the blogs participating in White Wednesday.  Also, be sure and check out the Leftover's blog.  Happy Wednesday to you all!

Summer Antique Show

I wanted to show you photo's from my booth during this past weekend's Summer Antique Show at The Red Barn in Round Top Texas.  Even though the weather was steamy as we were unloading on Friday, it turned out to be great day Saturday since we were indoors and didn't have to worry about the heat.   Here's a view of my booth:

Tons of ironstone pilled on a victorian plant stand with hydrandeas from my garden.

Petticoat and vintage clothes with angel wings, she was ready for a prom, but I guess she'll have to wait until the Fall Junk Gypsy Prom.

This cute swing I found a while back.  The lady was so excited to find it and was going to display it in her garden.

I love the white basket I found a while back, it still has the original wire in it to hold flowers in place.  And all these markers were found during several junking trips.

This cubby has so many possibilities.

Thanks to all the customers that came out and to those that stopped in to say hello.  I hope you all had a great weekend and an even better week!

A Dreamy Cottage

The other day I read that Sandy Foster of My Shabby Streamside Studio had made the NY Times.  You absolutely have to check out the article that they did on her dreamy cottage.  Click here to read.  Her cottage is not very big but it's jam packed full of the best ideas I've seen for a small space in a long time:

Also, the story how she got to this place from a plain fishing cabin was so interesting.  Be sure and check out her blog and her cottage is also going to be freatured in an upcoming issue of Romantic Country Magazine.  Happy Saturday to you all!

White Wednesday at The Red Barn

Since the Red Barn Antique Show is this weekend and it's another one of Kathleen's White Wednesday's, I thought I'd combine the two and show you some of the past vendors that were at the Red Barn Winter Antique Show during January and they will be back this weekend.  You know they'll have totally new items, so you will want to plan to be there.

This was my booth.

Moving on, this was Judy Hill's booth:

Here was Carolyn Westbrook's space:

This was Linda's things:

We will also be with Linda and Ludmil, Meloney and Brian, Camille and Scott and Alison and Rick are also joining in for Linda's upcoming show on July 10th, Fete Extraordinaire ~ Summer Soiree.  You can see the details on my side bar and please make plans to be there!

And, last but not least is Meloney:

You can find all these vendors, plus Trisha of The Red Door, Hector and Susie of Fundustrial, Camille and Allison, Molly and Robert of Johnson and Barrett Antiques and so many more great vendors.

Also, don't forget if you're in the area, there are some really great shops to stop by, like in Carmine Texas there's Jayne's Place and in Round Top there's Johnson and Barrett Antiques and don't forget you can eat at Royer's and then head down the road to Leftover's Antiques in Brenham.  We always have to check out Leftover's anytime we are in this area:

Still wanting more beautiful scenery, check out Festival Hill:

This is one of my fav places that I always have to visit.

Remember, spending a day in the country will do wonders for your soul!  As you can see there's so much to do and I know you'll have the best time here, besides the show is air conditioned so you don't have to worry about the heat.  Hope to see you there!

Patina Green Market Grand Opening

Luann, Kaci, and Robert are having their Grand Opening of their latest venture, Patina Green Home and Market this Saturday.  Their new retail store is located on the historic square of downtown McKinney Tx.  Patina Green Home and Market will be your newest store where you can shop and grab a bite to eat as well.

If you have previously shopped with Patina Green, you know the "home" part of Patina Green Home & Market. It will be a place to find vintage treasures and furniture to fill your home with things you love, not just more decorations. Their recent trip to Paris and England has provided the store with European pieces to mix in with their local, unique finds.

There will also be the "market" part of Patina Green Home & Market. Robert is a classically trained Chef and can't wait to get back into the kitchen! He'll be serving fresh sandwiches and lunches made from local produce, artisan breads, specialty cheeses and meats. Along with the best fudge and chocolates you've ever tasted - all made locally. Consider it a farmer's market available every day!

In addition, our homes must include a touch of nature such as fresh wildflowers, branches, herbs and twigs - so they will also to be offered in the market.

Patina Green Home and Market

116 N. Tennessee

McKinney, Texas 75069

Grand Opening:  Saturday, June 26 from 10:00AM-6:00PM

We are so excited for them and hope you will be able to join them in celebration and experience their way of life.

White Wednesday at Nancy's Place

The first time I saw an article on Nancy Fishelson's place, I knew I had to read more.  She renovates houses and what an absolutely beautiful job she does.  I love the white and clean and primitive furnishings she uses and the way she'll redo a place is just so appealing.

I love this farmtable and with the dark chairs, perfect combination.

Now this is a dreamy bathroom.

Simple furnishings, yet relaxing.  Love the dark mannequin in the background.

Such a cute cabinet.

All white just seems to work.

Love the sign in this kitchen.

She really knows how to work a room in all white.

Be sure to visit Kathleen for all the participants in White Wednesday.

Magical Garden Sale

Is what Deb, CD, Liz and Fran should have called their sale because it was just magical being in their back yard.  The birds were chirping and even fighting with a mirror, the red bird was our entertainment.  I had such a great time and they had put together a really great "first" show.  I so hope it continues, despite the heat and rain, it seemed to be a success.  Look at all their displays:

The white against the lush green background was so pretty.

I think they had a bit of it all here, from shells and mirrors:

To ladders and tables:

To arbors and garden statues:

If you were looking for red, white and blue, it was here:

Or, if your look is more garden themed:

or Romantic:
it was here.

How about throwing a tub into the mix:

They did a great job of creating outdoor rooms and it was so pretty.

This is what greeted you as you walked up, loved the entryway:

I do hope they continue their sales.  Happy Sunday to you all.

Judy's Potting Shed

is always so cleaverly decorated.  I could sit in her little cute potting shed for hours, doing nothing.  It's just so peaceful there.  This is located on the side of her main house.  I'll let the pictures do the talking:

I also wanted to show just how pretty her yard was decorated as well:

As you can see it rained that day, but despite this, I think she still had a good turnout.

I really liked this area a lot.

So, tell me what you think.  Now, just remember Judy usually holds several home shows a year or you can always find her at the Red Barn (which is coming up at the end of the month) or The Marburger Antique Show in the Fall.  I know next time you'll want to try and make plans to come see it for yourself.

I promise to show you the Midsummer Night's Dream Sale tomorrow.  Hope you all are having a great Saturday.

What did Judy Have?

Since I took over 170 pictures at Judy Hill's home show, I'm going to show it all to you in bits and pieces.  I know you want to see just what all she had and there is so much to see.  Each room was uniquely decorated, as it always is, and it was purely delightful.  The displays are always more than I can even image what Judy will do each time.  Just when you think she possibly can't create another unique vignette, she just does.  A surprise seemed to be around every corner.  I'll start off with the entry way, this is what greated you in the front door:

Each time this entry way is always different, never the same.

This little guy kept begging me to take him home.  What a gorgeous lamp it was.

Here's another view:

She had grain sacks everywhere:
You'll see more throughout the house.  Look for them as wall hangings and as curtains.

This vignette was just to your left to go to the left side of the house.

Here was the side entry way as you walked into the foyer:

You first come to this green bedroom:

This was the other side of the room:

Moving on to the bathroom that was next to this bedroom, was this cute vignette:

As, you went through another door, this cabinet was in this bathroom:

This was the second bedroom:

Look at this awesome bench:

Moving on down the hall you saw this:

See what I mean about the grain sacks.

Here's another view of the other side of the long hallway:

This was a peek into the third bedroom:

It had two different beds in it:

This was on one side of the bedroom:

And here is another wall:

This was off the 3rd bedroom:

Let's move on to the Living Room:

I think of all the rooms, this was one of my favorites.

Here's another view:

This area was as you walked from the living room to the kitchen:

And this was the other side by the kitchen:

Don't you just love her dining room:

I loved this display of the old window frame:

An over all view of the dining room:

Let's move on to the laundry room:

Yes, you wouldn't believe it was a laundry room if you couldn't see the corner of the dryer.  I've always said I think she has the prettiest laundry room I've ever seen:

Tomorrow, I'll show you the garden house.  Hope you enjoyed the tour, I know I really enjoyed seeing it in person.  But there's so much more to see, so click here to see more.  Tomorrow I'll show you what was at Liz, Fran, Debbie and Danny's sale in Terrell.

Kilgore then Terrell

and back home in one day.   So, yes long trip, really tired, but had a blast.  In case you don't realize how far Kilgore and Terrell are from my house, it's almost 3 hours to Kilgore, then alittle over another hour to Terrell from Kilgore and then back home, it took 3 hours from Terrell.

Here's a small preview of today.  This was at Judy Hill's home show:

Wait until you see the rest, you are going to be kicking yourself for not going, especially if you lived near by.  She had a boat inside her house.

This was Deb, Danny, Fran and Liz's Midsummer Night's Dream sale today:

It was just dreamy being in Liz and Fran's back yard.  Customers were lined up and stuff was being loaded in their vehicles.  A good time for sure was had here.

Note:  I forgot to mention, see that huge column in the back of the bed, well I'm now the new owner.  Loved the look of it.

I'll show you much more tomorrow.

White Wednesday in Kilgore

While today is another one of Kathleen's White Wednesday's my mind is actually already on tomorrow when I'll be headed to Judy Hill's Open House in Kilgore Texas.  I thought I'd feature this post with all the lovely white things she always has at her open houses.

I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Here's two different times at her garden house:

Now that you see just how beautiful she displays things AND it's all for sale, this is one place you don't want to miss coming out to.  It all starts promptly tomorrow at 10am.  Here's the address 3041 FM 2276, Kilgore, or you can always contact her at her blog if you need more info.  Hope to see you there.

Midsummer's Night Dream

Deb and our famous Cat Daddy are teaming up with Liz and Fran and having a Midsummer's Night Dream sale starting this Thursday evening at 5:30 in Terrell Texas.  I'm so excited to be going and if you are anywhere near Terrell you need to plan to go too.  These girls and guy I know have been working super hard to get ready for this sale, despite the heat (and let me just tell you it's been near almost a 100 degrees at my house and we aren't even into the heat of the summer yet!).  When I was in Winnie and Tulula's the other day, I just loved Liz and Fran's booth there.  check it out:

Here's your official invite to their sale:

If you are still curious about Liz and Fran, you can check out a previous post I did on them here and Deb also did a post here.  Hope to see you there!

The Weekend

This past Saturday we went to a few junkin places and I found this Victorian Eastlake bed.  The detail on it is just so unique.  The lady I bought it from said she'd had it 30 years and the person she bought it from said it had been in her family over 100 years.  The detail on it is just so wonderful.

You'll be able to see it at one of your Antique Events (check the side bar for where we'll be next).  If you can't wait until then and it interests you, just send me an email.  I also found two chandeliers, a very old cloth book, an old Tom's jar, and paint set, and a cabinet among other things.  It was a good junkin day.

Sunday, it felt really good to go to Church.  When we got home, I was really hungry for my aunt's "fried corn", so I decided to make it.  When I was growing up one of the pleasures of summertime was getting to go to Family Reunions.  You always knew there was going to be really good food there.  It may have been hot, but not even the heat would keep you from visiting with family.  One of the recipes I remember so fondly one of my aunts making was "fried corn".  They always had a huge garden, which I could see from the road, even though it was at the back of their house.  The corn seemed to stand so tall, you couldn't even see the person on the next row, or so it seemed.

Photobucket

It was really good with the chicken and baked beans.  I hope you all had a great weekend.  How did you spend your weekend?

Road Trip to Canton and Athens

Today we headed out early for the Canton Texas Flea Market, despite the weather man's report that it was going to rain.  It did eventually rain but we were long gone on the road before then.  It was a hot day and there were lots of vendors and shoppers at Canton.  I just didn't find much this trip, I guess I'm getting more and more particular about what I'm looking for.  Here are a few booths that you don't want to miss if you go there this weekend:

Here is LauriAnna's booth in the Arbors:

Loved this arbor, too cute.

Laurie Anna's apple tree.

Her booth was full of customers, always a good sign

Next is Troy and Rod's booth, also in the Arbors:

I guess Rod had walked away because he wasn't there when I stopped by.

Next up was Rebecca of Heaven to Earth's booth.  She sets up with Carolyn Westbrook, also in the Arbors:

She has the prettiest creations.

I also stopped in to see Ethel, she's located in the Pavillions and Maggie and Lillie were in the fields in front of the Civic Center.  The Canton Flea Market runs through Sunday, so you still have time to check out these booths.

We also stopped off at Winnie and Tulula's on our way home and they are having their Anniversary Sale this Saturday.  This new booth caught my eye:

These girls are called Empty Nest, isn't that a cute name.

Be sure to be there early to check out the specials they'll be having.  Happy Junkin!

Thank you so much for following:
